| The harm of drugs can not be ignored.Taking drugs will not only cause serious damage to the physical and mental health of individuals, but also have a negative impact on family relations and social stability. In addition, the withdrawal and prevention of drugs also require a large amount of social resources. For drug abusers, physical addiction is easy to break but mental addiction is difficult to break. The stereotype of drug abusers is an important factor that makes them unable to integrate into society and embark on the road of relapse.Reducing relapse problem is an urgent problem for the society to solve. In order to reduce the negative self-stereotype of drug addicts, this study introduced the variable continuum beliefs, aiming to reduce the negative self-stereotype of drug addicts through the intervention of continuum beliefs. In study 1,a questionnaire was developed to measure the continuum beliefs of drug abusers in Chinese culture,so as to provide an effective tool for measuring the continuum beliefs of drug abusers. After three rounds of testing and data collection(n=166,114 and 145,respectively),the questionnaire items were determined through item analysis. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire were evaluated by internal consistency, factor internal consistency, split half reliability, content validity, criterion validity and structure validity. The results showed that the questionnaire had good reliability and validity, and could be used to measure the continuum beliefs of drug abusers.Study 2 aims to explore the relationship between continuum beliefs and negative self-stereotype of drug abusers. This study measured the continuum beliefs and negative self-stereotype of 103 drug abusers by using the continuum beliefs Scale and the external Affective Simon Task(EAST)behavior experiment. The results showed that continuum beliefs was negatively correlated with the level of negative self-stereotype.Study 3 aims to explore whether intervention in continuum beliefs can effectively improve the level of continuum beliefs and reduce the negative self-stereotype of drug addicts. In this study, the continuum beliefs and negative self-stereotype of drug abusers were measured by pre-test,post-test and follow-up measures. In the study, the subjects were divided into the experimental group(n= 51)and the control group(n=52).In the pre-test,the initial level of the continuum beliefs and negative self-stereotype of the subjects in the two groups were measured. After 10 minutes, the experimental group was subjected to intervention, and the control group was subjected to irrelevant reading. The subjects were tracked using questionnaires and the EAST behavior test again. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the initial state of continuum beliefs and negative self-stereotype between the experimental group and the control group. In the post-test,the negative self-stereotype of the experimental group was not significantly reduced, but in the follow-up,it was found that the continuum beliefs of the experimental group was significantly improved compared with the control group and the pre-test experimental group, and the negative self-stereotype was significantly reduced.Conclusions:(1)The continuum beliefs scale has good reliability and validity.(2)There is a negative correlation between continuum beliefs and negative self-stereotype of drug addicts.(3)The intervention of continuum beliefs of drug addicts can effectively improve their continuum belief and reduce their negative self-stereotype. |
