The operas "The Pearl Picker" and "Carmen" are the first and last works of Bicai’s creative career.The author chooses two baritone aria with different styles to study based on his own singing experience.This research topic is mainly divided into four parts.The first part briefly introduces the creative background and plot of the two operas.The second part focuses on the structure,melody,and accompanying music of the two works,and analyzes their musical characteristics.The third part is based on practical singing experience,and studies singing techniques(breath application,sound expression)and stage character performance(scene modeling,stage performance).The fourth part is a reflection and summary of the research.When singing two works,it is necessary to apply appropriate singing techniques,understand the different musical characteristics of the two works,accurately grasp the personalities of the two different baritone characters,and thus grasp the connotation of the works,improve the singing level,and achieve high-quality stage singing effects.The research results of this topic have expanded the research width and depth of Bicai opera,and also provided valuable theoretical reference for the singing practice on the opera stage.
