A Study Of "Imakan" In Hezhe Oral Literature

As a representative art of Hezhe literature,the "Imakan" is a record of Hezhe’s history and development through the repeated singing of generations of Hezhe people.This paper examines "Imakan" from five dimensions: context,narrative features,natural imagery,humanistic landscape,and development and transmission,in order to analyze "Imakan" from the surface to the depth,to explore the cultural connotation of "Imakan",and to promote the inheritance and development of "Imakan",Hezhe culture,and Chinese ethnic culture."Imakan" is born in the environment of the white mountains and black water where the people of the Hezhe people live,and is generated on the basis of the material life and spiritual civilization of the Hezhe people."Imakan" is not only a historical record of the natural struggle of the Hezhe people,but also the initial exploration and reflection of the world by the Hezhe ancestors,which is a symbol of the Hezhe people’s desire for beauty and the pursuit of light,expressing the collective innermost desire of the people.Under the surface of ethnic life,digging deeper into the inner aesthetics of ethnic literature,explore the ethnic character and ethnic spirit.The Hezhe "Imakan" is born from the foundation of real life and the spiritual aspirations of the people,and the environment and process of its creation show regional and ethnic characteristics.In this paper,we have researched various aspects of the narrative characteristics of the "Imakan",including the mother theme,characterization,and narrative structure.In the study of the maternal themes,we have selected the ancient and common maternal themes of "Imakan",namely,the orphan theme,the worship theme,and the marriage theme.These themes are a combination of tradition and time.The character analysis also selects typical "Imakan" characters,namely,the hero of Mozhgan,the shaman,and Mafa,to show the diversity and development of "Imakan" characterization.The analysis of narrative structure focuses on the narrative characteristics of "Imakan" ’s combination of speech and singing,and explores the reasons for the generation and development of "Imakan" ’s narrative characteristics as well as its unique personality from the dimensions of textual content,voice and intonation to the performers of the speech and singing.The natural imagery contained in the "Imakan" is a symbol and embodiment of the culture and spiritual symbols of the Hezhe people and is one of the souls of the "Imakan".As the ethnic epic and myth of the Hezhe people,the "Imakan" contains the spiritual beliefs of the Hezhe people,which are condensed into imagery symbols.The fish,eagle,and bear imagery are typical of "Imakan" ’s works,symbolizing the different emotional pursuits of the Hezhe people.The three imageries show the Hezhe ancestors’ understanding of the world from three aspects: nature guardianship,female image,and Shangri-Li tradition,showing the common pursuit of collective identity and the intrinsic support of the ethnic spirit for ethnic development.The vast land of the Sanjiang Plain nurtures the life of the Hezhe people,and the waters of the three rivers nourish the souls of the Hezhe people.Hezhe people’s cognition originated in this nature,Hezhe people’s ethnic character was born in this nature.Hezhe people through the "Imakan" show for the survival of the land,the real life of the beauty of observation and understanding.Through the heartfelt love and eulogy of ordinary life,showing the spiritual beauty of the Hezhe people,human beauty,and in the collective identity of this beauty,breeding ethnic character,cohesion of the ethnic spiritual core.Under the influence of ethnic character,ethnic spirit,generations of Hezhe people are called to influence the ethnic social construction,development,ethnic social interaction,folk customs and habits are deeply familiar with the common aesthetic orientation of the ethnic group.With the development of society,the fast and furious development of science and technology and fast-paced lifestyles make people’s call for the spiritual homeland created by literature more and more intense.Therefore,the inheritance and development of the Hezhe "Imakan" is an important issue of literary and cultural concern today,but also the obligations and responsibilities given to the people of the times.We should enhance cultural confidence,firm cultural road,take the initiative to assume the responsibility of the inheritance and development of "Imakan".
