A Study On The Body Narrative Of Athletes Of Ice And Snow Sports Theme TV Series

2022 winter Olympics was held in Beijing from 4^thto 20^th,Feburary.Beijing winter Olympics showed much exciting competition about ice and snow sports,which arouses people’s interests about ice and snow sports.The group take part in ice and snow sports has been gradually developing since Beijing won the bid to hold the winter Olympics.In 2016,the State General Administration of Sports released the Ice and Snow Sports Development Plan（2016-2025）.To promote the dissemination of ice and snow culture,the Plan proposes to support a variety of forms of literary and artistic creation on the theme of ice and snow.The ice and snow sports theme TV series began to sprout and gradually developed.The sports of sports-themed TV dramas have evolved from volleyball and soccer in the early stage to diverse sports in the middle stage including swimming,ping pong,taekwondo,baseball,etc,and now they have expanded to ice and snow sports such as short track speed skating,figure skating and ice hockey.The narration formed by the athletes’bodies also plays a role in representation,communication and dissemination.In ice and snow sports drama series,athletes’bodies have rich meanings which about appearance,connotation and value and athletes’bodies show the spirit of transcending struggle at the same time.Therefore,the object of this paper is the bodies of athletes in ice and snow sports TV dramas.This paper takes ice and snow sports TV dramas as the image text,analyzing the connotation and value presented by athletes’bodies,and broadening the aesthetic dimension of viewers to ice and snow sports TV dramas.The author hopes to provide reference for the creation of future ice and snow sports drama series and help producer to create better stories of Chinese ice and snow sports.The chapter 1 composes the concept and development history of sports drama series into four stages:the budding exploration period（1985-2000）,the rapid development period（2001-2008）,the adjustment and development period（2009-2018）,and the successive development period（2019-present）and The chapter 1 sorts out the background and concepts of ice and snow sports-themed TV series.The chapter 2 discusses the body presentation of athletes in ice and snow sports-themed TV dramas,which is divided into visual presentation,bodies presented in different venues,and bodies presented in different gender dimensions.The visual presentation of athletes’bodies includes body shapes,body movements and the ritualistic nature of the body in specific occasions.Different gender dimensions refer to the different body temperaments presented by male and female athletes.The chapter 3 analyzes the body aesthetics of athletes in ice and snow sports drama series.The deeper analysis of athletes’body ideation includes two aspects.One is the infectious body landscape.The body landscape includes a fit torso and energetic posture,the body blendind the sense of movement and perceptiveness,technical tendencies’body.The second is the body that carries multiple connotations,including the personal value level and the national honor level.The Chapter 4 analyzes the multi-dimensional value presented by athletes’bodies in ice and snow sports drama series,and summarizes them in terms of the artistic value,spiritual value and cultural value presented by athletes’bodies respectively.The artistic value is the expression and aesthetic pleasure of force and beauty.The spiritual value is to spread the ice and snow sports spirit of the times of striving,perseverance and transcendence.The cultural value is to spread the ice and snow culture of exploring nature and tapping human potential to the public,so that people can feel the inspirational theme of life.The Chapter 5 is a reflection on the physical presentation of athletes in ice and snow sports drama series.From three aspects to reflect on the shortcomings of the body presentation of ice and snow sports drama.First,the ice and snow sports drama lacks portrayal of the body presentation in film and television language.Second,the ice and snow sports drama lacks strength of the athletes’body presentation during the competition ceremony in film and television dramas.Third,the physical meaning of athletes in film and television dramas is similar.
