Chen yuyi,self-titled Jianzhai Jushi, was the most accomplished poet at the turn of the Song Dynasty.During the Song Dynasty, when the culture was peaceful and the economy was prosperous, literati generally possessed a strong sense of self.Chen Yuyi is a poet with a strong sense of self, which is reflected in the text as a strong desire to write about himself. This writing includes recording and describing his physical condition, words, deeds, and life values. This article analyzes Chen Yuyi’sself-writing and explores the characteristics of his self image. In the first chapter, the author combs the development and changes of Chen Yuyi’sself cognition with a timeline, which can also be seen as a comprehensive investigation of Chen Youyi’sself image throughout his life. The author divides Chen Yuyi’s self-development into three phases to investigate, taking the Jingkang Incident and the Arrivals as the boundary.During the period of wandering between Bianjing and Luoyang,Chen Yuyi developed a Confucian consciousness and displayed high self expectations, which led him to fall into self doubt. However,he had a strong ability to self regulate and bring him back on track;During the period of living in the south, the outbreak of the Jingkang disaster strengthened Chen Yuyi’s Confucian consciousness, and at the same time made him feel a profound sense of being a guest. In order to alleviate the pain caused by the two,Chen Youyi lowered his self expectations, nicknamed himself "Jianzhai Jushi",displaying a pragmatic attitude and continuing it;In his later years as an official,Chen Yuyi lamented the increasing frequency of aging, while the Confucian spirit of focusing on reality gradually faded away, and the sense of leisure gradually occupied the main body of his self writing. In the second chapter, the author selects three aspects of Chen Yuyi’s self-image to analyze.Chen Yuyi’s self-image has many aspects. This article analyzes the three most prominent aspects of Chen Yuyi’s text.First of all,Chen Yuyi is a scholar, who is noble and upright in the face of the turbidity of officialdom, and who cares about the country and the people in the face of the turmoil of the country;Secondly,Chen Yuyi is a guest, who is far away from his ideal hometown and also adrift outside his real hometown; In addition to the above two realistic images,he also established the ideal image of a hermit in the text to dispel the pain brought about by the real world. It is precisely these aspects of Chen Yuyi’s self-image that form a vivid and full Chen Yuyi in the text.In the third chapter, the author compares Chen Yuyi’s self-image horizontally with the self-image of Du Fu,Chen Shidao, and Lv Benzhong.Through comparison,it can be found that Chen Youyi’s self-writing was strongly influenced by Du Fu and Chen Shidao, but after all,he lived in a different era.Chen Youyi’sself-writing showed obvious characteristics of the times, which were particularly evident in the comparison with Lv Benzhong. However,Chen Youyi’s strong self consciousness made his self image show subtle differences from Lv Benzhong. In the fourth chapter, the author takes the image of Chen Yuyi as an example to examine the reconstruction of Chen Yuyi’s image as the other.Although Jianzhai poetry has traces of Jiangxi poetry school,Chen Yuyi himself has not directly indicated that he belongs to Jiangxi poetry school. His identity as a poet of the Jiangxi Poetic School was jointly constructed by Yan Yu and Fang Hui for their own purposes, and Fang Hui’s theory of "one ancestor and three ancestors" had a significant impact, making Chen Yuyi’s image as a poet of the Jiangxi Poetic School deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.Through the illustration of this image,we can know that the image of Chen Yuyi that we currently understand actually adds factors to the reconstruction of the other.Through the analysis of Chen Yuyi’s self-writing,we can gain a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of this famous scholar who lived at the turn of the Song Dynasty and reassess his image in literary history.
