Writing is an expressive skill in English teaching and an important embodiment of learners’ comprehensive language quality.With the reform of the new college entrance examination,continuation writing as a new type of test has been included in the English college entrance examination.In the English learning process,senior three students’ writing ability and writing interest still need improving,and they cannot well complete the corresponding continuation writing task.How to improve the senior three students’ interest and ability in continuation writing has become the top priority in senior three English teaching.Writing evaluation is the key element of English writing teaching.Currently,the single evaluation method of high school English writing restricts the improvement of students’ writing ability.Peer review can help to improve writing confidence and writing ability.At present,there are few researches on the application of peer review in senior three continuation writing.Therefore,this study explored the specific effect of peer review in senior three continuation writing by introducing peer review into senior three continuation writing.This study adopted qualitative and quantitative analysis methods,and used questionnaire survey,test and teaching experiment for empirical research.To be more specific,the first semester in senior three was taken as the experiment cycle,and 98 students were selected to carry out writing teaching experiment.The experimental class adopted peer review as the evaluation mode,while the control class adopted the normal evaluation mode of teachers.This study aimed to solve the following three questions:(1)Can peer review in continuation writing in senior three improve students’ interest in writing?(2)Can peer review help improve the continuation writing ability of senior three students? If so,in what ways?(3)What is the influence of peer review on writing performance of students with high,middle and low writing levels?The results showed that:(1)The application of peer review in continuation writing in senior three could improve students’ interest in writing.(2)Peer review could significantly improve the accuracy,complexity and coherence of language expression in continuation writing of senior three students.(3)Peer review had different influences on high,middle and low level students.Middle and low level students’ writing performance was improved significantly;the writing performance of high-level students wasn’t significantly improved.Therefore,this study found that peer review was better than the traditional evaluation mode,and teachers should apply peer review to the future teaching activities of senior three in continuation English writing,and make full use of peer review. |
