| The learning process for a second language is inevitably influenced by the phonetic transfer of the mother language, which brings some learning pressure to beginners. The Tibetan language is mainly used in the Tibet region.Due to the transfer effect of Tibetan language, there is an unconscious tendency to replace it with other factors in Tibetan language, causing in poor listening perception and imitation comparison ability.Meanwhile,it is shown that Tibetan,as the mother language, has a profound impact on the learning of English pronunciation for Tibetan students in the research. However,in practical teaching,it has been found that English teachers have made significant changes in teaching strategies, with targeted adjustments made to teaching design, teaching conception, and teaching focus. But the phenomenon of phonetic transfer still exists among the students, which seriously restricts the English learning of students. Therefore,in order to comprehend the influencing factors, the impact level, and the corresponding measures caused by Tibetan language on phonetic transfer in English learning for Tibetan middle school students, the study adopts questionnaire survey and on-site interviews to investigate the impact of English phonetic transfer on Tibetan middle school students.A total of 120 students participated in the survey, with 8randomly selected students and 5 English teachers participating in the interview. The main questions of this study are: 1)Why does phonetic transfer occurred during the process of learning English among Tibetan middle school students? 2)What are the route causes for the phonetic transfer effects caused by Tibetan language when the Tibetan middle school students are learning English? 3)What are the coresponding strategies for phonetic transfer under the influence of the mother language environment of Tibetan? The middle school students of the Han ethnic group have learned Chinese Bopomofo in primary school, and they have started to learn English in the third grade.Although they found that the pronunciation of English and Chinese Bopomofo were completely different when they started learning their second language-English,and the sentence structures were basically inverted.During the research process,in the investigation of the main influencing factors of English learning in Tibetan middle school students,it was difficult for Tibetan students to learn the pronunciation of English letters,.In addition, due to the phonetic influence of Tibetan, the accumulation of letters and words that can’t be pronounced increases. As time passes, there will be a tendency to be weary of learning English, and English pronunciation has become one of the main reasons restricting English learning. From the analysis of academic performance, there are fewer students with overall excellent grades who are less affected by phonetic transfer, which means that students with poorer academic performance are also less affected by phonetic transfer, and vice versa. From a gender perspective, boys are relatively less affected. From a grade level perspective, the proportion of students in the second year of junior high school is higher than that of students in the first and third years of junior high school.By far,the most serious factor affected the English pronunciation of Tibetan middle school students is Tibetan. However,English is also one of the important languages which are used to connect with the world.People hope that phonetic transfer among learners can be changed as soon as possible. In the future teaching process,English teachers will combine the main reasons for phonetic transfer among Tibetan middle school students, improve teaching methods and strategies, and hope to make changes in the shortest time.Help learners get rid of the difficulties of being influenced by Tibetan phonetic transfer, and speak fluent and standardized English. |
