Continuation task is a new type of writing method put forward by Wang Chuming in 2012,which is a combination of reading and writing.During the continuation task,the students should read the material without the ending first,and then finish the ending.Senior High School Art and Sport Talented Students are special,with the poor writing performance.So the aim of this thesis is to find the effects of continuation task on senior high school art and sport talented students’ English writing obstacle and anxiety.On the theoretical foundation of “Input Hypothesis”,”Output Hypothesis”,Interactive Alignment Theory and “ Affective Filter Hypothesis”,combined with the teaching practice,this paper attempts to find out whether continuation task can effectively improve the writing performance and reduce the writing anxiety.In order to achieve the goal,this study sets the following three questions:(1)How does the continuation task reduce the senior high school art and sport talented students’ writing anxiety?(2)How does the continuation task remove the senior high school art and sport talented students’ writing obstacle?(3)How does the continuation task improve the senior high school art and sport talented students’ writing performance?In order to address the research questions,the author conducted an 18-week experiment in Handan No.1 Senior High School,choosing 60 students from two classes of grade 1 as the experimental participants.One class was randomly selected as the controlled class and the other class was the experimental class.In the controlled class,the traditional English writing teaching method was adopted.The other adopted the continuation writing.The author collected the data.SPSS 24.0 was used to sort out and analyze the experimental data.The results of the research show that English writing anxiety level is relatively high.In addition,the results also indicate that continuation writing has obvious effects on art and sport talented students’ writing performance,reducing their writing anxiety,especially the aspect of cognitive anxiety.Finally,the results also suggest that continuation writing has positive impacts on writing obstacle,especially in the aspect of language.
