| The story of The Legend of the White Snake has a long history in China,and it has also been widely spread to various countries,and it has been translated into foreign novels or adapted into film and television works.Japan,a country separated only by a strip of water from China,has adapted the story of The Legend of the White Snake into movies and put it on the screen for many times.Japan’s film adaptation of the story of the White Snake mainly focused on the 20 th century.However,if we carefully watch these Japanese films about the story of the White Snake,we can find that there are many differences between them and the story of the White Snake which is widely known in China.Then,based on the differences presented in these films,this paper attempts to explore the different presentations of White Snake Biography in Japanese films by analyzing the film texts,and explore the different interpretations of White Snake Biography in Japan from the perspective of cross-cultural communication,with a view to studying the deep-seated reasons for the changes in the story of China White Snake Biography in Japanese films,so as to better understand the factors affecting the cross-cultural communication of White Snake Biography in Japan.Firstly,through the spread of the story of the white snake in Japan,this paper analyzes the main forms of the early story of the white snake flowing into Japan,and lists a series of works adapted from the story of the white snake in China by Japan.Among these adaptations,the film about the story of the White Snake is a very prominent embodiment,because they break away from the adaptation style of the early Japanese version,that is,break away from the narrative structure of Xu Xian and Bai Niangzi,and directly adapt to the love between Xu Xian and Bai Niangzi in the story of the White Snake in China.Therefore,this paper also chooses such films as the research object of this paper,including the1956 "The Demon Love of Lady Bai" and the 1958 animated film "The Legend of the White Snake".In the text analysis part of the second chapter of the film,the author analyzes the differences between the two Japanese films and the legend of White Snake in China from three aspects: character setting,story plot and element symbols.On this basis,from the perspective of cross-cultural communication,the author further discusses the meaning behind the films and the deep-seated reasons behind the differences between the films.By analyzing the above-mentioned films about the story of the White Snake,the author thinks that the differences between these films reflect the important influence of culture in cross-cultural communication,revealing the common point of Japanese films in adapting the story of the White Snake in China,that is,their recognition of their own national cultural values.Although Japanese films remake the story of the White Snake,it is still dominated by its own national culture.In the epilogue,the author further summarizes the overall changes of the films about the story of the white snake in the text,and sees that the films about the story of the white snake in Japanese films present a unique Japanese style,especially from the story of the white snake,which shows that Japanese animation is gradually developing in the direction of globalization,and that although the recipients are more diversified in subject matter under cross-cultural communication,the deep-seated things behind it are still rooted in Japanese culture.By analyzing the different presentations of the legend of the White Snake in Japanese films,the author also realizes that cultural factors play an important role in cross-cultural communication.Due to different cultural backgrounds,the recipients of cross-cultural communication do not fully accept the foreign culture,and they will still make different understandings of cultural products,adapt them and even integrate them into their own national culture.Secondly,cross-cultural communication is a dynamic communication process,and its impact is not only one-way short-lived,but opposite long-term.Finally,it is particularly important to look at cross-cultural communication from the perspective of globalization.From the animated film Legend of the White Snake,the author saw the growing animation industry in Japan,which deeply reflected the inclusiveness of Japanese national culture.Then,in cross-cultural communication,in order to achieve better communication effect and convey the excellent China traditional culture contained in it,we must first recognize the important factor of culture and pay attention to communication methods,so as to effectively reduce cultural discounts and communicate more effectively in cross-cultural communication.In addition,the imitation of Disney animation by the Japanese film White Snake in 1958 also gives the author some enlightenment,that is,to look at cross-cultural communication from the perspective of globalization. |
