This paper discusses the design of blended teaching for translation courses of Chinese majors in Thai universities,taking "conjunctions connecting clauses" as an entry point.Through careful study of relevant blended teaching research,this paper finds that blended teaching is conducive to promoting the application and development of educational technology and plays a great role in the field of education.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the blended teaching model applicable to the field of Chinese international education in order to promote the reform and innovation of translation courses for Chinese majors in Thai universities.This paper collects and analyzes literature on the design of blended teaching,including the definition of blended teaching,its theoretical basis,and the model of blended teaching design.On this basis,a blended teaching model based on constructivism is proposed,that is,a teaching method that combines student autonomous exploration and cooperative inquiry under the guidance of teachers.At the same time,constructivist learning theory and activity learning theory are combined as theoretical support for the teaching design of Chinese major translation courses in Thai universities-taking“conjunctions for connecting clauses” as an example.Before designing,this paper first understands the learners’ learning status,and then sets the corresponding teaching objectives and contents.In the process of designing the blended teaching plan,this paper adopts the teaching according to the blended teaching design,dividing the classroom into three processes: pre-,in-and post-class,and paying attention to the principles and teaching strategies of each stage.In the pre-class stage,we design eye-catching learning objectives,adopt the learning method of "pre-study with questions" to stimulate learners’ interest in learning,and let learners do independent learning according to their own learning schedule,and then bring the "questions" to the face-to-face teaching in the class.In the in-class stage,this paper adopts various teaching methods and means,such as classroom lectures,case studies,brainstorming and translation scenario simulations,to ensure the effective implementation of teaching in all aspects.In the post-class stage,we design targeted practice questions and post-lesson assignments to consolidate knowledge and improve skills.At the same time,the rationale and principles of designing each learning activity in the teaching process are elaborated and explained in this paper.Through continuous reflection on the teaching design,this paper finds that the design of blended teaching needs to take into account the clarity of the teaching objectives;the teaching content should be based on application and learners’ learning interests;using multiple effective teaching methods;and considering learners’ habits in online teaching;and the development of appropriate online and offline media resources,to further optimize and improve the teaching design and teaching effectiveness of blended teaching.The results of this study provide useful reference for the application of blended teaching in Chinese international education classrooms and provide inspiration for future Chinese translation course teaching design.
