| The city image is the first business card of the city’s external communication,and it is the overall presentation of the city’s spirit and cultural style.In recent years,with the rapid development of film and television technology,the shaping and dissemination of urban image has become a hot spot in academic research in the industry.In addition,the creation of a city image is closely related to local politics,economy,science,education and culture,shaping a distinctive city image has increasingly become one of the important ways for cities to attract tourists,attract investment and even the city’s international image.Based on the creative practice of my graduation work "Two-Sided Suzhou",this paper takes Kevin Lynch’s urban image theory as the starting point,and explores how urban documentaries show urban humanities,express urban space,and shape urban image through text and video means.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper is divided into five chapters,the first chapter defines the concept of urban image and urban documentary,and sorts out its development overview.The second chapter classifies urban imagery based on Lefebvre’s spatial theory and explores the specific expression of urban imagery in Suzhou.Chapter 3 builds the discursive framework of urban documentaries,extracts thematic symbols,weaves urban imagery,and adopts multiple perspectives to create a "two-sided Suzhou" city image.The fourth chapter takes the creative practice of the graduation work "Two-Sided Suzhou" as a foothold,and explains how urban documentaries can enhance the audiovisual aesthetics while allowing the audience to perceive the image of the city and understand the meaning of the city through the image screen.Chapter 5 reviews and reflects on the whole process of this creative practice,extends the evaluation of the social value of the work,and summarizes the experience and insights in the documentary creation process,looking forward to a better start next time. |
