Study On Language And Culture Of Lotus Leaf Place Names In Shuangfeng County

As a product of social life,place names are the tool symbols used by human beings to refer to geographical entities.They not only contain language phenomena,but also have cultural connotations,and fully reflect people’s understanding of local physical geography,humanities and society.Heye is located in the southeast of Shuangfeng County,Hunan Province,and its place name research is basically in a stagnant state.This paper takes 2175 place names in two towns in the Heye area of Shuangfeng County as the research object,and uses the relevant theoretical knowledge of linguistics and culturology to investigate the language characteristics and cultural connotation of Heye place names,in order to enrich the research content in the field of place names.The article consists of five parts.In the introduction part,firstly,the basic situation of lotus leaf is briefly introduced from the two aspects of historical evolution and geographical location,then the research status of domestic place names,Hunan Province place names and Shuangfeng County place names is discussed,and finally the source of corpus,research value and research methods of this paper are explained.Chapter 1 uses the theoretical knowledge of linguistics to analyze the syllable composition,lexical characteristics and rhetorical use of lotus leaf place names.Based on the analysis of lexical features,the common names of lotus leaf are divided into two types: the common names of physical geographical entities and the common names of human geographical entities;This paper analyzes the proper names of place names from the perspective of parts of speech.Finally,it introduces the use of metaphor,metonymy,allusion,exaggeration and homophony in lotus leaf place names.Chapter 2,from the perspective of culture,makes an in-depth investigation on the relationship between the lotus leaf place names and the natural geographical environment,history and culture,and social psychology,so as to further understand the deep connotation of the place names.Chapter 3 sorts out the lotus leaf administrative division place names before and after the consolidation and adjustment of the organic villages in Shuangfeng County,analyzes their evolution performance,and excavates their evolution reasons.The conclusion part summarizes the research results of the article and points out the shortcomings of the article.
