Study On Writings On Economy Of Zhang Wei’s Novels

With the development of our market economy and modernization,the relationship between literature and economy is increasingly close.It is difficult for writers to express real life without an economic perspective.Since the Economic Reform and Open up,writers such as Yu Hua,Jia Pingwa,Wang Anyi,Liu Zhenyun and Liu Heng have consciously begun to write about human conditions in the economic society from various aspects.Zhang Wei,who adheres to moral idealism and poetic writing,also has a large number of economy-related writing in his works,taking the economic life of human beings in the process of modernization as an important object of concern and content of writing.Throughout Zhang Wei’s novels in the last 50 years,he always pays attention to the living conditions of all social strata in China,constantly adjusts the economic theme of his novels with the development of the Times,and strives to fully,comprehensively and aesthetically reflect the human and human nature in the economic world,which enriches the expression content and form of contemporary Chinese literature and provides a new perspective for us to understand and criticize contemporary literature.In his writings on economy,Zhang Wei conveys such an idea of economic ethics: the economic behaviors of characters and the economic purposes they achieve should conform to the moral norms,which is the main manifestation of Zhang Wei’s moral idealism in social and economic criticism.Two other important themes in his works,suffering and love and marriage,were also influenced by this economic ethic.Zhang Wei portrays many representative economic figures such as Sui Baopu and Chun Yu baoce,and describes typical economic phenomena such as rent-seeking of power and the widening urban-rural wealth gap.In the performance and analysis of these economic figures and economic phenomena,a kind of fixed economic narrative mode is formed.In addition,influenced by Zhang Wei’s Cultural accomplishment and personality,the writings on economy are full of traditional cultural color,and there is an aesthetic style of "plain but gorgeous,thin but plump" through the absorption of Confucianism and Taoism culture.Under the influence of his literary language view,his economic narrative language has both lyricism and philosophy.The main body of the full text consists of the following four parts:The first chapter combs the development of writings on economy in Zhang Wei’s novels,summarizes it into two stages,and probes into the content and thoughts of it in each stage.The second chapter explores the theme of writings on economy in Zhang Wei’s novels.The author’s economic moral and value judgment on the character’s economic behavior vividly reflects his economic ethics.Suffering is an important connotation of Zhang Wei’s novels.Both material suffering and spiritual suffering are the expression content of his writings on economy.In Zhang Wei’s love and marriage writing,economic events and characters’ economic status and behavior have an important impact on love and marriage relationship.The third chapter expounds the three basic economic narrative modes in Zhang Wei’s novels: one is the "power-economy" mode,in which economy and power form a mutually dependent relationship;The second is the "struggle-success-retreat" mode,through the analysis of the life path of millionaires,to explore the real intention of their "retreat";The third is the "leaving and returning" mode,which is the inheritance and development of Lu Xun’s "returning home" mode.The fourth chapter explains the aesthetic characteristics of Zhang Wei’s writings on economy.There is a great deal of cultural foundation,which accords with the aesthetic style of " plain but gorgeous,thin but plump " that Su Shi commented on the poems of Tao Yuanming Zhang Wei is also creative in the choice of language,adding monologue and lyrical discussion in addition to realistic detail description,making the economic narrative language lyrical and philosophical.Zhang Wei certainly criticizes the tide of commerce and consumerism in his writings on economy.His concern about the encroachment of commercialism into the spiritual world of human beings in modern society and his adherence to the responsibility of reflection and criticism of intellectuals undoubtedly reflect his adherence to moral idealism.From his economic ethics throughout his writings on economy,it can be seen that Zhang Wei’s attitude towards economic development is positive rather than negative,as long as the way and purpose of development do not violate the basic ethics.It creates a significant tension between Zhang Wei’s identities as an idealistic writer,which has been recognized by the academic circle.His writings on economy subvert and dispel his fore passed image as a moral idealist.
