In the elementary school stage,English occupies a place in all teaching subjects,and vocabulary,as the cornerstone of a language,is particularly important in English teaching.With the development of the times,the traditional vocabulary teaching methods have gradually been unable to meet the needs of students.How to improve the effect of the pupils’ English vocabulary recall and how to positively change the attitude of the pupils to English vocabulary learning has become the focus of front-line educators and researchers.The emergence of mind map has provided significant help to solve this problem in a manner.The purpose of this thesis is to combine mind map and vocabulary teaching to study the effects of mind map on the emotion and attitude of pupils’ English vocabulary learning.The purpose of this thesis is to solve the following two questions:(1)Can the use of mind map for vocabulary teaching improve the effect of pupils’ English vocabulary recall? If so,how does it improve the effect of English vocabulary recall?(2)What changes do they have in their emotion and attitude towards English vocabulary learning after using mind map for English vocabulary teaching?Based on the theory of knowledge visualization and the theory of constructivism,this thesis links mind map with the elementary English vocabulary teaching.The research subjects are the students in the sixth grade of one elementary school in Hengshan.Through the English vocabulary recall tests,questionnaires and face-to-face interviews,the data before and after the experiment were compared and analyzed,and the following conclusions were drawn:(1)The use of mind map for vocabulary teaching can improve the effect of pupils’ English vocabulary recall.(2)After using mind map for English vocabulary teaching,pupils have a positive change in their emotion and attitude towards English vocabulary learning.This research is beneficial to stimulate the pupils’ interest in English vocabulary learning,and at the same time,it also provides valuable information for the elementary school English teaching reform.Therefore,this thesis has certain research significance. |
