Measurement Study On Total Factor Productivity And It’s Economy Convergence Of China’s Culture Industry

In recent years,the cultural industry of China has developed rapidly,with its contribution to the national economy increasing steadily.However,compared with developed countries,China’s cultural industry started late,the foundation is relatively weak and the regional development is unbalanced.It also faces the problem of relatively low input and output.Therefore,improving total factor productivity and narrowing the economy gap in regional industrial is very important for China’s cultural industry at present.This paper measure the total factor productivity of China’s cultural industry by DEA-Malmquist index method,with using the panel data of the "Statistical Yearbook of Chinese Culture and Related Industries(2013-2020)" from 31 provinces.And this paper adopts the standard deviation,absolute βconvergence model and conditional β convergence model to test the economic convergence of the total factor productivity of China’s cultural industry.The empirical results show that thanks to the improvement of technical efficiency,the total factor productivity of China’s cultural industry increases at an average annual rate of 1.3%.Among the three major economic regions,the western region has the fastest growth in the total factor productivity change index due to the significant improvement in technical efficiency,followed by the eastern region and the lowest in the central region.Based on the measurement results of the total factor productivity of the cultural industry,the paper conducts a convergence test on it,.The convergence test results of total factor productivity of China’s cultural industry show that there is still a large gap between regional industry.From the calculation and statistic results of three regions,there is an absolute β Convergence and conditional β Convergence phenomenon.But σ Convergence was not founded,which indicates that provinces or regions with relatively backward initial industrial level cannot achieve economic catch-up at a faster development speed.From the perspective of sub-regions,the eastern,central and western regions all show a significant β convergence trend,which indicates that the total factor productivity of the inter-provincial cultural industries within them has a tendency to approach the same steady state.Combining the empirical results with the status quo of industrial development,it can be seen that the regional disparity in the total factor productivity of China’s cultural industry is caused by various factors such as economy,policy,professional,technology,foundation and so on.Therefore,it is necessary to accelerate innovation support,expand market opening,promote technology diffusion,deepen institutional reform,improve management level,improve professional service system and strengthen inter-regional exchanges to narrow the gap in industrial development,and promote the rapid development of the China’s cultural industry.
