Sleep is one of the most important physiological functions of human beings, which is related to people’s physical and mental health. However, sleep problems have become a common problem for college students, seriously affecting the physical and mental development, learning and life of college students, for purpose of ensuring the proper development of college students,it is necessary to explore the influencing factors and mechanisms of sleep problems. The literature has mainly explored the influence of social, psychological and physiological factors on sleep problems. With the development of psychology, some researchers have explored the impact and mechanism of childhood trauma on the sleep quality of college students from the perspective of childhood trauma, but the current research results have not reached a more unified conclusion, and further research is needed.Research on how childhood trauma affects sleep problems also often focuses on cognition, emotion, family functioning, coping styles, etc.,and few studies have studied personality traits related to cognitive-emotional deficits. This study added alexithymia as a personality trait as a variable, based on the theory of excessive arousal of sleep, the psychosomatic tendency of alexithymia, and the protection mechanism of psychological resilience,to investigate the impact of childhood trauma on sleep problems in college students, and Mechanisms in which alexithymia and resilience play a role. The Childhood Trauma Questionnaire(CTQ-SF),the Toronto Alexithymia Scale(TAS-20),The Insomnia Severity Index(ISI),and Connor-Davidson Rescilience Scale(CD-RISC-10)were used and conducted a questionnaire with 949 college students at a university in Tianjin. The results of the study showed that:1.The overall incidence rate of sleep problems in university students was 28.0%,and the subclinical insomnia was 19.7%;Moderate insomnia was 7.7%;severe insomnia is 0.6%;The overall incidence rate of alexithymia in university students was 20.3%,subclinical alexithymia was 24.9%.2.There were significant differences in sleep problems and alexithymia among college students in different childhood residences,Study shows that the severity of sleep problems and alexithymiain rural areas were higher than those in urban and city areas in childhood.3.Childhood trauma can significantly positively predict sleep problems in college students.4.alexithymia plays a mediating role in the relationship between childhood trauma and sleep problems in college students.5.Resilience regulates the second half of the mediation model, that is,psychological resilience can significantly modulate the adverse effects of alexithymia on sleep problems in college students.
