The Characteristics Of Micro-narrative Painting In The Contemporary Context

Since the twentieth century,the context of painting has been changing along with the development of society.The function of traditional narrative painting has been gradually weakened,and painting no longer serves only religion,history and politics.With the emergence of photography and information technology,our lives are filled with a large number of fragmented images,and traditional narrative forms are gradually replaced,and narrative painting has a tendency to microcosm.The emergence of micro-narrative painting enables us to express the details of life and personal feelings in a more detailed way,making art closer to life.The development of micro-narrative painting is influenced by many cultures,presenting diversified artistic characteristics and possessing high artistic and social values.This paper is based on the social and cultural background of the contemporary context to study the artistic characteristics embodied in micro narrative painting,and use them to guide one’s own painting practice.The first chapter defines the "contemporary context" and discusses the socio-cultural phenomena in the "contemporary context",followed by tracing the concept of micro-narrative painting to its roots,exploring the concepts of narratology and micro-narrative,and tracing its historical development.The second chapter analyzes the concept of micro-narrative painting and its historical development.The second chapter analyzes the artistic characteristics of micro-narrative painting,exploring the three aspects of narrative perspective,narrative mode and pictorial language,and analyzing the works of related artists.Based on the summaries of the previous chapters,the third chapter develops a study of the connotation of micro-narrative painting,exploring three aspects: the gaze on the self,the focus on human nature and the care for society.Based on the previous research on micro-narrative painting,the fourth chapter elaborates on the use of themes,perspectives and techniques in the creation of individual micro-narrative paintings,and deepens the understanding of micro-narrative painting by summarizing and reflecting on his own painting creation.
