Anxiety is a prevalent mental health problem among children and adolescents, which can negatively affect their personal relationships and academics.Middle school students are at an important time in their physical and psychological development, and the pressures from a variety of sources, including academic and interpersonal, put them at a serious test. The relationship between anxiety and somatisation in junior high school students has received much attention from researchers, but the relationship between academic anxiety, social anxiety and somatic symptoms has yet to be explored. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between learning anxiety, social anxiety, somatic symptoms and self-blame and loneliness among junior high school students, and to obtain more specific experiences from the subjective experiences of the individuals involved. In Study 1,1023 junior high school students were selected for the study, and data were collected using the Learning Anxiety subscale,Social Anxiety subscale,Somatic Symptoms subscale,Self-blame subscale and Loneliness subscale of the Mental Health Diagnostic Scale for Secondary School Students adapted by Zhou Bucheng et al.Study 2 selected four students from students with high learning anxiety, social anxiety and somatic symptoms to be interviewed on each of the two levels of high and low self-blame and loneliness. The findings of the study were as follows:(1)Learning anxiety and social anxiety positively and significantly influence somatic symptoms;(2)Self-blame plays a moderating role in the relationship between learning anxiety and somatic symptoms;(3)Loneliness plays a moderating role in the relationship between social anxiety and somatic symptoms.(4)The process by which the person’s anxiety leads to somatic symptoms can be divided into three main themes: experience of somatic symptoms: somatic discomfort, negative coping;anxiety leading to somatisation: blame-oriented,loneliness-oriented;self-help and help-seeking: self-healing,support from others. This study concludes that self-blame and loneliness play a moderating role in the relationship between learning anxiety, social anxiety and somatic symptoms, which is also validated in the subjective experience.
