| As an important way for people to understand world financial events,the translation of financial news has attracted more and more attention.Based on the translation of 10 financial news articles from the New York Times(2020-2021),this practice report finds out the importance of stylistics in translating financial news into Chinese.To analyze the translation of financial news,we should not only use the translation principles of "faithfulness" and "coherence",but also master the stylistic characteristics of English financial news.Financial news English has the common characteristics of general news,namely popularity,interest and frugality,and also has its unique stylistic characteristics,namely professionalism,timeliness and comprehensiveness.The summary and study of the stylistic characteristics of English financial news is of great significance to the translation of financial news.Only by mastering the stylistic characteristics of financial news translation can we create a faithful and smooth translation.This practice report studies graphological features,lexical features and syntactic features of English financial news,analyzes these features in combination with the translation principles mentioned above,and finally puts forward feasible suggestions conducive to the translation of financial news,in hope of promoting the further research and exploration on the stylistic characteristics of English financial news. |
