A Dream of Red Mansions Painted by Sun Wen is a painting album with meticulous brushwork and heavy color based on a Dream of Red Mansions by Sun Wen and Sun Xiaozhou of Qing Dynasty.Sun Wen and Sun Xiaozhou detailly accepted the original text of A Dream of Red Mansions and formed an image data relative to the text with the Dream of Red Mansions as the reference carrier.Their acceptance process showed both opposition and unity.On the one hand,this graphic work strives to faithfully copy the original work.On the one hand,this image work strives to faithfully imitate the original work,and because it has the characteristics of similar writing time,similar social environment and similar regional customs with "A Dream of Red Mansions",it better reproduces the style and charm described in "A Dream of Red Mansions" and has a similar relationship with the original work.On the other hand,the symbol difference between literature and images makes it difficult to eliminate the "gap" in the process of imitating the original work of A Dream of Red Mansions.In addition,the painter’s various experiences,interests,qualities,ideals and other factors form the criteria for choosing the content of the original work and the basic attitude towards the original work.Influenced by these two factors,There are many "misinterpretations" and "reconstructions" of the original work in this graphic work,which are different from the original work.A Dream of Red Mansions painted by Sun Wen is not only dependent on and inherited from the original,but also shows its uniqueness and innovation.With the publication of various publications,movies and exhibitions related to A Dream of Red Mansions painted by Sun Wen,this kind of works transforming from "language culture" to "image visual culture",with its unique popularity and communication effect,has expanded the acceptance group of the original text of A Dream of Red Mansions to the general public.In the process of cultural transformation,the image of Sun Wenhui’s Complete version of A Dream of Red Mansions not only plays a complementary role in the meaning of the text of A Dream of Red Mansions,but also has an impact on its meaning.With its power of easy penetration into the public,it influences and transforms readers’ cognition of the original work of A Dream of Red Mansions.Based on the relationship between the text and the original work of A Dream of Red Mansions drawn by Sun Wen,this paper judges the reference text of A Dream of Red Mansions drawn by Sun Wen,and interprets the reception and reconstruction effect of the picture book on the original work from the aspects of character setting,composition conception,painting image and so on through the text and picture comparison.Based on the perspective of the relationship between text and image,this paper compares the image of Xue Baochai in "Cheng Jia’s A Dream of Red Mansions" and "A Dream of Red Mansions painted by Sun Wen",exploring the different aesthetic characteristics and ideological connotations of the two,in order to provide a more comprehensive explanation of the historical outlook and value of "A Dream of Red Mansions painted by Sun Wen".Hope to give a more comprehensive interpretation of the historical outlook and value of A Dream of Red Mansions drawn by Sun Wen.
