| Combined motor-cognitive training is a comprehensive intervention developed based on the beneficial effects of physical exercise and cognitive training, which can bring greater cognitive benefits compared to single physical exercise or cognitive training.Exploring the combination pattern of sports tasks and cognitive tasks in combined motor-cognitive training is an important way to understand the mechanism of combined motor-cognitive training. So,this study aims to explore the impact of the integration of sports tasks and cognitive tasks in combined motor-cognitive training on college students’ working memory.Thirty-six experimental participants were randomly divided into cognitive task incorporated into motor task training group and cognitive task additional to motor task training group, with 18 participants in each group. The fusion group intervened using the customized mode in the Nintendo Switch game console, while the combination group intervened using the method of simultaneous aerobic cycling and mobile phone games.Using an individual test method, the experimental participants were given 30 minutes intervention for 8 weeks,3 times a week, and the working memory of the experimental participants was evaluated using the spatial 2-back task and the letter2-back task before,4 weeks,6 weeks, and 8 weeks of intervention.Research has shown that cognitive task incorporated into motor task training group has a faster spatial 2-back response time than cognitive task additional to motor task training group after 6 and 8 weeks of intervention, but there is no significant difference in the effectiveness of verbal working memory between the two groups; In the cognitive task incorporated into motor task training group, the response time of the spatial 2-back task and the letter 2-back task was faster compared to the baseline value after 6 weeks and 8 weeks of intervention, and there were significant differences in the response time of the spatial 2-back task and the letter 2-back task after 6 weeks and 8 weeks of intervention compared to 4 weeks of intervention, while there were no significant differences at other time points; After 6 weeks and 8 weeks of cognitive task additional to motor task training the response time of the letter2-back task was faster compared to the baseline value. After 6 weeks and 8 weeks of intervention, there was a significant difference in the response time of the letter2-back task compared to 4 weeks of intervention, and there was no significant difference at other time points. This study found that cognitive task incorporated into motor task training is more conducive to improving the visual spatial working memory of college students, but both cognitive task incorporated into motor task training and cognitive task additional to motor task training are effective in verbal working memory. The research results further validate the applicability of the adaptive capacity model and the facilitation guidance model. This study suggests that cognitive task incorporated into motor task training is more beneficial to improving working memory;when choosing cognitive task incorporated into motor task training to improve working memory,it should be persisted for at least 6 weeks. |
