EFL writing examines the output of students’ comprehensive learning ability. However,in the process of writing teaching, most teachers directly ask students to read and recite model texts, focusing on the results and ignoring the teaching process. Therefore, students can not make full use of the model texts to develop their potential.Dynamic assessment(hereinafter DA),by combining assessment and instruction together, diagnoses the students’ difficulties and problems in the process of the assessment, and provide them timely guidance and instruction through interventional activities, endeavouring to develop students’ learning potential.Based on relevant research, this study attempted to construct a DA intervention mode for the use of model texts in senior high school EFL writing classrooms, with the aim of exploring the impact of DA on the students’ use of model texts. The experiment mainly followed the DA mode of “pre-test-mediation-post-test”,and two classes of Grade 11 in a senior high school in Ruyang were selected as the experimental subjects, with a total of 53 students in experimental class(EC)and 51 the control class(CC).Before the experiment,a questionnaire was used to understand the difficulties of students in their EFL writing.Based on the survey results and relevant researches,a DA mode for model texts instuction was constructed around the three stages of pre-writing,while-writing,and post-writing.After 5 DA sessions,a post-test was conducted both in EC and CC,and a post-test questionnaire were distributed in the EC.This study mainly answered two questions:(1)In what way can DA intervention help promote senior high school students’ interest in model imitating?(2)What impact could DA interventional activiities help to improve their ability of model-imitating and writing? The experimental results indicate that(1)DA intervention could enhance high school students’ interest in imitating model texts;(2)DA intervention could help high school students use imitated chunks and sentence structures actively and appropriately, promote their imitating ability, and improve their EFL writing performance.
