The Semantic Evolution Of "忘" "记" "思" And "念" And The Lexicalization Of "忘记" And "思念"

Based on the CCL corpus of Peking University,this paper examines the semantic evolution path of"忘""记""思"and"念"from a diachronic perspective,and sorts out the relative synchronic word family characteristics of"忘""记""思"and"念".The word-forming ability of each morpheme is analyzed,and on this basis,the lexicalization process and motivation of"忘记"and"思念"are discussed.The article believes that the evolution of the meaning of"忘"has two paths of subjective and objective evolution,while the evolution of the meaning of"记""思"and"念"all develop along two paths of noun and verb."忘记"is an antonymous compound word and a"morphological word"that is directly formed into a word.Its lexicalization motivations include:Chinese linkage"VV"type construction suppression,morpheme combination morphological formation,semantic partial meaning and phonetic weakening."思念"is a synonymous co-ordinated compound word,and its lexicalization motivations include:Chinese linkage"VV"type construction suppression,synonymous co-ordinated word creation caused by conscious use of rhetoric,rhythmic control,and psychological cognitive chunking.
