A Research On "Mangzhong"(1979-1989)

“Mangzhong” is a local comprehensive monthly literature magazine sponsored by Shenyang Federation of Literary and Art Circles.Under the guidance of the "double hundred" policy,“Mangzhong”,which was founded in January 1957,has adhered to the courage to intervene boldly in life and the pursuit of unique publishing style,and has become a unique existence in Liaoning literary and periodical circles.In the second half of 1957,the tide of anti-rightist struggle caused the literary achievements of “Mangzhong” to be nearly overturned,and finally forced to stop publication at the end of 1957.In October 1979,“Mangzhong” resumed its publication.The newly born “Mangzhong” insists on emancipating the mind and intervening in life,and its quality,popularity and sales volume are rising steadily.In its heyday,it was once called the "four famous journal" of the national pure literary journals together with Youth,“Mengya” and “Guangzhou Literature and Art”(one said,with “Haiyan”,“Youth” and “Fangcao”).“Mangzhong” has become a literary garden for training many writers since its development.The 1980 s was a period of prosperity for the development of literary journals,and also a period of extraordinary prosperity in the history of the publication of “Mangzhong”.This thesis takes the Grain of “Mangzhong” from 1979 to 1989 as the research object,extensively collects historical data,deeply analyzes the text of the work,pays attention to the column setting of the journal and the direction of literary spirit,and tries to carry out a comprehensive and systematic research on it.The specific contents of the paper are as follows:The introduction first discusses the origin of this topic,introduces the history and achievements of the publication,explains the reason for choosing "Mangzhong" as the research object,then explains the research status and significance of "Mangzhong",and finally clarifies the research methods and ideas of the full text.The first chapter discusses the modernity of “Mangzhong”,and analyzes the relationship between “Mangzhong” and the trend of contemporary Chinese literature.By investigating the historical background of the publication of “Mangzhong” in 1957 and its literary spirit,this paper reveals the spiritual characteristics of “Mangzhong”,which dare to intervene in reality,expose social problems,pursue fresh and meaningful,and express human feelings.After the resumption of its publication in1979,“Mangzhong” adhered to the pursuit of the times,showed a strong sense of "scar" and "reflection" in its literary creation,and also joined the literary debate in the1980 s with a strong sense of intervention in literary criticism.Through the reappraisal of the contention works of “Mangzhong”,we can identify the new historical stage in order to establish the new literary order,find out the social and historical reasons for the contention,and try to get close to and restore the true face of the literary field.The second chapter focuses on the regionalism of “Mangzhong” and analyzes its relationship with the cultural territory of Northeast China.The cultural history and folk customs on the black land of Northeast China are the most extensive material base for Northeast writers to carry out literary creation.As a literary journal located in Shenyang,the works published in the magazine,whether poetry or fiction,whether in terms of content or literary language,reflect the strong regional characteristics of Northeast China.With the intention of the editorial team,the number of industrial literary works published by “Mangzhong” has gradually increased,which has also become another manifestation of the local nature of “Mangzhong”.The third chapter reveals the openness of “Mangzhong”.This part focuses on the column setting and writer composition of “Mangzhong”,from which we can find out that “Mangzhong” always adheres to the all-embracing ideology in treating literary texts and literary subjects.Whether it is the extensive theme or the innovation of the form,whether it is the work of a famous writer or the work of a new person,whether it is the reader-oriented publishing policy and the market-oriented operation mode,“Mangzhong” shows an open and inclusive attitude towards it.The fourth chapter summarizes the value of “Mangzhong” on the basis of the previous discussion,and carries out reflection and outlook on it.To participate in and witness the history of contemporary Chinese literature is one of the most important values of the book.At the same time,“Mangzhong” has also enriched Liaoning’s cultural undertakings,and until today it is still one of the important cultural products in Liaoning.“Mangzhong” has adapted and popularized the reading level of the grassroots people,and has become a literary field for open communication of multi-level literary subjects.Finally,while reflecting on the experience of running the magazine,the author tries to give some suggestions for the future development of the magazine from the historical and current issues.
