A Study On Ecological Writing Of Tibetan Proses Since The 1990s

Since the 1990 s,with the accelerated modernization of Tibet,it’s infrastructure construction has been improved and it’s economic industries have developed rapidly.However,accompanied by the arrival of an ecological crisis,ecological protection has emerged as one main issue among its development in the new era.Contemporary Tibetan writers have realized the urgency and necessity of ecological protection earlier,and as early as the 1990 s,they took the natural and human ecology of Tibet as the main object of proses description,and comprehensively showed the aspect and changes of Tibetan ecological environment in the process of modernization and development through their different viewpoints.Taking works of representative writers of contemporary Tibetan proses since the 1990 s as examples,this thesis conducts thematic studies on the theme and content of ecological writing,ecological consciousness of contemporary Tibetan writers and its ideological sources,and ecological aesthetic ideals,etc.In doing so,it intends to convey a more comprehensive view of the ideological and artistic achievements of contemporary Tibetan proses starting from ecological writing.This thesis consists of five main parts.The first part,introductory chapter discusses the origin of the topic,the method of discussion and the current situation of the study,and sorts out the development of ecological literature and the spiritual connotation of Tibetan ecological literature from an overall perspective.The second chapter analyzes "the sources of ecological consciousness in Tibetan proses since the 1990s".The rise of ecological writing in contemporary Tibetan proses since the 1990 s has been influenced by multiple ecological ideas.Among these,theories such as non-anthropocentrism,ecological holism and ecological ethics advocated by the West,which have gradually entered the plateau with the deepening of China’s reform and opening-up.On the other hand,the ecological wisdom of traditional Chinese Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism is the common ideological foundation of contemporary Tibetan proses writers;in addition,the traditional way of thinking that all things are spiritual in Tibetan culture has contiguously brought out Tibetan traditional ecological consciousness and ecological aesthetic concepts.Chapter 3 analyzes "ecological aesthetic ideals in Tibetan proses since the1990s" and proposes that the common ecological ideal in contemporary Tibetan proses writing is to building an ecological world of poetic dwelling.Through the textual analysis of representative writers’ works,this chapter tries to present a more comprehensive picture of ecological writing in Tibetan proses: Ma Lihua’s Facing the Plateau,Gayang Xijie’s Poetic Grassland,Pintso Zhaxi’s Reproduction of Hometown and Jimmy Pingdi’s Impression of Tibet,etc,which shows the humanistic landscape and social customs of Tibet at different levels,and the diverse Tibet presented by these writers contains a common ecological aesthetic ideal,namely,to build a poetic world.The diverse Tibet presented by these writers contains a common ecological aesthetic ideal,that is,to build a Tibetan land for poetic dwelling.Chapter 4 focuses on the expression of ecological crisis in Tibetan proses since the 1990 s.In addition to constructing an idealized and harmonious Tibet,the ecological writing in contemporary Tibetan proses also pays close attention to and relates to the ecological reality of Tibet.Its ecological writing also reveals various ecological crises in Tibet from different perspectives,including the reality and spirituality of Tibet,analyzes the contradictions between human beings and livestock on the grasslands,shows the collision between traditional and modern production methods.What’s more,the causes of flood disasters,soil erosion in Tibet,and the impact of traditional wildlife release into the wild on modern ecology are also traced.Chapter 5summarizes the "ecological writing value of Tibetan proses since the1990s" in terms of expression and literary value.It also makes clear that since the 1990 s,different writing styles have been employed by contemporary Tibetan proses writers to build an ecologically harmonious Tibet,reflecting their social responsibility and undertakings.On the whole,the ecological consciousness embodied in contemporary Tibetan proses since the 1990 s are essentially anti-anthropocentric.Guided by the holistic concept of nature and ecology,it reflects at depth on the relationship between human beings and nature,digs into the fundamental source of ecological crisis,establishes ecological ethical consciousness.Meanwhile,the attitude and way of life of conforming to nature are advocated,thus a harmonious and beautiful ecological vision of Tibet can be built.
