There are many different ways of writing it,all of which are transliterated from the Tibetan word "srid pa".In ancient Tibetan texts,"srid pa" means "world" or "existence" and "universe";In The bo cosmology and mythological narration,the word "srid pa" has rich meaning.It has the connotation of "initial" and "inheritance".So " Srid Pavi Tho Yig " is the general theory of the universe about the origin of all things.“Srid Pavi Tho Yig ”is a creation myth with strong Bon culture.Known as "gtam po che" by the people,it is mainly spread in and around the The bo,and is passed down orally in the form of questions and answers.Its content includes the formation of the world,the origin of mankind,the formation of Tibetan villages in the snowy region,the formation of Diezhou,involving Bonism,Buddhism,Confucianism,history,astronomical calendars and other aspects,reflecting the original way of thinking and unique cosmology of the Tibetan ancestors,and reflecting the unique ethnic culture in the border area between China and Tibet.In this thesis study,I will use Legs bshad rgya mtso’s collated version as a translation model,attempt a complete translation and detailed commentary on the for“Srid Pavi Tho Yig” the first time,and look at the field and ritual process of “Srid Pavi Tho Yig” chanting from the perspective of Clifford Geertz’s local knowledge,using the method of combining text and field,and revealing the order and essential characteristics of its chaotic appearance,as well as the deep cultural connotation it contains.This article consists of four chapters,except for the "Introduction" and "Conclusion" sections.The first chapter mainly paves the way for the study of " Srid Pavi Tho Yig ",important name identification,version introduction,and elaboration of the natural and human geographical environment generated by the creation theory.The second chapter is a translation of the“ Srid Pavi Tho Yig ”,which explains that the content of the Srid Pavi Tho Yig related to the worldly origin is a narrative of the native worldview and sacred history.Chapter 3 is an analytical study based on the translation of the Srid Pavi Tho Yig." Srid Pavi Tho Yig " is performed in a ritualistic space,and the ritual includes the chanting,the chanting site,the ritual process and the functional meaning,indicating the importance of indigenous knowledge.Chapter 4 focuses on the theoretical perspective of anthropological "local knowledge," mainly revealing what the cosmology and historical view of the sacred history of the overlap looks like,how it was formed,and how it compares with other Tibetan creation texts,so as to specifically explain the importance of the local knowledge of the overlap.As a folk Bon’s document,the reflect“Srid Pavi Tho Yig” the mythological,worldview,philosophical,ethical and moral views of the Tibetan ancestors.It is also able to recognize the exchange situation between the excellent traditional culture of Tibetan and Chinese national culture.In the context of the protection and transmission of intangible cultural heritage,the transmission and protection of this living heritage is a subject that will continue to be important for everyone in the future.The primary purpose of this paper is to provide readers with a reliable translation of “Srid Pavi Tho Yig” and new theoretical perspectives on the research results,so that more scholars can understand the importance of the intangible cultural heritage of the folk benevolent religion.
