A Report On E-C Translation Practice Of Hollandse Kust (West) Wind Farm Zone Project And Site Description From The Perspective Of Text Typology

In the context of reaching the goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality",the cooperation and exchanges in offshore wind between China and the Netherlands have been increasingly close.Therefore,the translation practice of offshore wind cooperation has practical significance.The translation material selected for this translation practice report is Hollandse Kust(west)Wind Farm Zone Project and Site Description,entrusted by the Translation Center of Lianyungang Foreign Affairs Office,based on which the translation practice report was written.The paper analyzes and determines the text type of translation materials as scientific and technological information text.Reiss’ s Text Typology Theory is selected to guide the practice based on close analysis of her theory and its application.According to the translation standards and methods of text typology,three features of the informative text have been summarized in this paper: information accuracy,information completeness and information fluency.This paper analyzes the translation cases from these three aspects: information accuracy,which is embodied in equivalent translation of abbreviations and semantic correspondence of terms.Then,information completeness.In translating the text,background information supplement and subject addition have been employed.Thirdly,information fluency.It mainly focuses on voice retention or conversion,division and word order adjustment in sentence translation.Eventually,reviews have been summarized in this translation practice,serving as a reference for future translation work.
