A Study On The Relationship And Intervention Of Adolescents' Authenticity, Basic Psychological Needs And Subjective Well-bein | | Posted on:2024-09-30 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:L Yang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2555307076964679 | Subject:Mental health education | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Adolescents are at a critical time of physical and mental development and self-discovery.Due to the imbalance of physical and mental development and the rapid development of self-awareness,the mental health problems of young people are becoming more and more prominent.As an important index to evaluate the level of mental health,subjective well-being is not only the goal pursued by individuals,but also one of the best weapons to overcome difficulties and setbacks,and even affects the physical and mental health and social functions of individuals.Therefore,improving the subjective well-being and mental health of adolescents is an important issue at present.Both humanistic theory and psychoanalysis believe that being consistent with the true self and living according to one’s own values and beliefs is a barrier against mental illness and a means to obtain happiness and freedom.Research on the influence of authenticity on subjective well-being is still in its infancy,so this study examines the status quo of adolescent subjective well-being and how authenticity affects it,and conducts intervention research on this basis to improve adolescent subjective well-being sense level.This study includes two sub-studies: Study 1 uses "Authenticity Scale","Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction Scale","Life Satisfaction Scale","Positive Affective Negative Affective Scale",and a total of 1654 subjects in Anhui Province and Hebei Province A survey was conducted by middle school students.To explore the relationship between individual authenticity and subjective well-being,and the mediating role of basic psychological needs satisfaction in this.Study 2 adopted the method of group counseling,referring to the data of Study 1,selected two classes with low subjective well-being scores,and randomly divided them into a control group and an experimental group.The members of the experimental group carried out group counseling intervention for eight times,and the members of the control group carried out other thematic activities unrelated to the intervention.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)Teenagers’ authenticity,basic psychological needs and subjective well-being are all at the hyper-mean level;(2)There were significant gender differences in subjective well-being,with boys scoring significantly higher than girls;there were significant differences in basic psychological needs and subjective well-being in terms of whether or not they were boarding students and whether or not they were class leaders,with day students scoring significantly higher than boarding students and class leaders scoring significantly higher than non-class leaders;and there were significant differences in the grade level of each variable;(3)There was a significant positive relationship between the two variables of adolescent authenticity,basic psychological needs and subjective well-being;(4)Basic psychological needs play a partial mediating role between authenticity and subjective well-being;(5)Group counselling activities based on basic psychological needs can significantly increase the level of satisfaction of basic psychological needs,which in turn can increase the level of subjective well-being. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | subjective well-being, authenticity, basic psychological needs, group counseling, adolescents | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
