Reflections On The Development Path Of New Literature

In the history of Chinese literature in the 1940 s,Zhu Ziqing was in such a critical position:in front of him was the "new" literary standard being explored and established,while behind him was the old and gradually declining cultural heritage of "May Fourth".In this period,his literary creation and academic research were all interwoven with such "new" and "old" problems.In this period,Zhu Ziqing’s personal thinking on the development path of new literature shows the great influence of the zeitgeist on his personal thought and behavior,and also shows the complex mentality of a modern intellectual when facing the choice of times.This paper takes Zhu Ziqing in the 1940 s as the research object,combines diaries,letters and other historical materials,and makes a systematic study from the Angle of thought.The first chapter briefly analyzes the basic situation and development direction of Zhu Ziqing’s research.The second chapter mainly analyzes the "labels" of Zhu Ziqing,such as "modern Bo Yi" and the typical transformation of intellectuals,and sorts out his life track after 1937,and restores the historical road of Zhu Ziqing from the three places of "Peiping","Nanyyue" and "Kunming".The third chapter analyzes Zhu Ziqing’s concrete practice of seeking new literary outlet from traditional literature,especially his modern literary concept presented in Classic Platitudes and Nineteen Ancient Poems.The fourth chapter analyzes the concrete practice of Zhu Ziqing’s turning to "civilian" literature,taking his poetry and essay thoughts in the 1940 s as the object.Finally,it summarizes the new literary development path that Zhu Ziqing found in the 1940s.
