Irwin Allen Ginsberg(1926-1997),one of the leading figures of "the Beat Generation",was also a great admirer of Chinese culture, having studied and embraced it with full enthusiasm.By reading Ginsberg’s biography, interviews, and letters,it is easy to see that the poet has long had an inseparable relationship with China. He inherited the tradition of "Chinese fever" started by American poets such as Pound and Rexroth, and further studied and absorbed the essence of classical Chinese poetry,so that his compositions were colored with brilliant Chinese colors.Based on this, this paper takes Ginsberg’s poems with unique Chinese charm as the object of study and systematically explores the wisdom of Classical Chinese poetry latent in his poems. This paper mainly consists of the introduction, the text of three chapters and the conclusion. The introduction mainly introduces the research background, research significance, research status, research methods and innovations,in order to clarify the dynamics of previous research and the logic of the text. The first chapter discusses Ginsberg’s relationship with Classical Chinese poetry based on the American social environment in the 20 th century and the poet’s life and cultural experiences.First, the "San Francisco Renaissance",the post-modernist trend and the boom of Chinese poetry translation in the United States provided an opportunity for Ginsberg to contact with Classical Chinese poetry;second,Ginsberg’s active interaction with American imagist poets and Chinese poets,as well as his travel experience to China, created unique conditions for him to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese Classical poetry. The second chapter focuses on specific poetic works to introduce and demonstrate Ginsberg’s reference to the creation method of Classical Chinese poetry.Firstly,Ginsberg imitates the monosyllabic and symmetrical structures of Classical Chinese poetry;secondly, his poems borrow the artistic techniques of juxtaposition of images, the use of allusions and leaving blank space commonly used by Chinese poets, which enriched the writing mode of poems;thirdly, the poet has created the artistic conception of with Chinese poetic flavor by means of empathy into the scene and blending things with me.The third chapter explores Ginsberg’s acceptance and integration of the philosophical interest behind Classical Chinese poetry, which mainly absorbs the sense of cosmic concern for the unity of all things, the awareness of the true nature of life that everything is empty, and the spirit of transcendence of the roundness of life and death, giving the poetry a unique ideological connotation. The conclusion part aims to draw a conclusion of the study. To summarize the unique value and significance of Ginsberg’s acceptance of Classical Chinese poetry,to expound the enlightenment significance of Classical Chinese poetry in its use and interpretation by Ginsberg, can provide an outlook of future research.
