A Comparative Study On The Phonology Of Shaoyang Dialect

As an important part of Lou Shao dialect of Xiang languag,Shaoyang dialect has received little attention from the academic circles except the urban dialect of Shaoyang.The study of Loushao dialect is mainly confined to single-point phonological description and intra-county comparison,lacking of systematic and comprehensive Comparative study of phonology.At the same time,although Shaoyang dialect belongs to the Shaowu and Suihui sub-sections of Xiang language,its internal difference is quite obvious.So it is necessary to carry on further shard.In view of this,the author conducted a field survey of 16 dialect points in seven counties and three cities in the city of Shaoyang and sorted out the phonetic system of each dialect.On the basis of the analysis of the materials of each dialect,and according to the differences of the phonological features of the Shaoyang dialect and the consideration of the part of the dialect,this paper focuses on the comparison of the phonological features which are quite different and of various types,this paper summarizes the features of the minor differences and simple types of phonology,and provides a reference for the phonology of some parts of Shaoyang dialects.In terms of initial,the present reading and evolution of the fully voiced initial and Zhi Zhang Zhuang Jing Jian Zu(组)are discussed.Through the analysis of experimental phonetics,it is found that the fully voiced initial in Shaoyang dialect have very few true voice and there are also few voiced slack voice,most of which are voiceless slack voice and voiceless sound,even in Suining and other places become completely voiceless,indicating that Shaoyang dialect is moving towards voiceless.The Zhi Zhang Zhuang Zu as a whole shows the pattern of"Zhi er(二等)and Zhuang Zu combined flow,Zhi san(三等)and Zhang Zu combined flow",and the Jing Zu and Zhi Zhang Zhuang Zu have different types of separation and combination,there is also the situation that Zhi Zhang Zhuang Zu mixed into the Jian Zu.In terms of vowel,this paper mainly discusses the present reading and evolution of Xie Jia Guo Yu She(摄)and nasal vowel.This paper sums up the present pronunciation types of the nuclear vowel of the Xie Jia Guo Yu She,and makes a historical level analysis and a summary of the type of chain variation.This paper sums up and sorts out the present reading types of Xian Shan,Zhen Shen Zeng Geng and Tong She,the nasal ending and the separation and combination relations among them.In terms of tone,the paper mainly discusses the return of fully voiced entering tone category and raising tone category.Based on the above contrastive analysis and other phonological features,Shaoyang dialects are divided into five major sections:Shaoyang section,Xin’ning section,Longdong section,Wucheng section and Suining section.According to the internal differences of Shaoyang section,Wucheng section,Suining section were divided into small pieces.It also summarizes the internal characteristics of each dialect.Finally,a simple phonological comparison is made between Shaoyang dialect and Loudi dialect(Lengshuijiang,Lianyuan,Shuangfeng),Dongan Tu Hua of Yongzhou(Nanqiao,Huaqiao,Gaofeng),Lengshuitan Tu Hua(Xiaojiangqiao,Lanjiaoshan),Loudi dialect is the most similar to Shaoyang dialect,followed by Lianyuan dialect,and Shuangfeng dialect is quite different from Shaoyang dialect.At the same time,we think that Shaoyang dialect is similar to Dongan Tu Hua and Xiaojiangqiao Tu Hua in Lengshuitan,so we can classify them as Xiang dialect,while Lanjiaoshan Tu Hua of Lengshuitan is a Tu Hua with the characteristics of Xiang dialect.
