| The high school English course is a major course in ordinary high schools.On the one hand,students can master the basic grammar knowledge of English language and have the basic language skills of listening,speaking,reading and writing through specific English teaching practice activities;On the other hand,it can promote the improvement of students’ mind,values,cultural consciousness,emotion and humanistic quality.In addition,English learning can also help students understand foreign cultures.Learning foreign cultures and understanding the differences between cultures are conducive to China’s foreign exchange and opening up,as well as the export of the core values of Chinese culture.As an important tool for educators to implement teaching and educatees to learn cultural knowledge,the selection and arrangement of teaching materials have a certain connection with the teaching results of educators and the learning quality of educatees.Scientific and reasonable teaching materials can effectively promote the knowledge teaching and learning of teachers and students.By analyzing the teaching content in the textbook from the perspective of culture,we can clearly grasp the cultivation of students’ cultural consciousness in the textbook.With the continuous progress of education internationalization,the cultural content and presentation of domestic high school English textbooks should not only meet the requirements of the new curriculum standards,but also adapt to the current social and national development.Based on this,the selection and presentation of cultural content in high school English textbooks are closely related to the international environment and the requirements of domestic curriculum reform.In the process of research,the thesis takes the compulsory one and compulsory two of the senior high school English textbooks of the people’s Education Edition and the Oxford Yi Lin edition as the research object,and takes the seven cultural categories of history and geography,local customs,traditional customs,lifestyle,literature and art,code of conduct and values as the research main line to make a comparative study on the cultural content and the presentation of cultural content contained in the two editions of senior high school English textbooks.By analyzing and summarizing some characteristics and advantages of the two editions of textbooks,combining the practical value of English textbooks and the requirements of the new curriculum standards,this paper puts forward suggestions for the use of the two editions of textbooks,so as to provide powerful help for improving the teaching effect of English teachers and students’ cultural self-confidence and cross-cultural communication ability. |
