Analysis Of Alicia Keys' Singing And Songwriting Skill

As the development of pop music diversification and localization deepens and extends,the development of musicians’ singing and composing techniques becomes a landing point.The essence of the development of singing and composing techniques is the creative combination of techniques by improving musicians’ proficiency in techniques as well as by breaking through the barriers between various techniques.Alicia Keys is a famous American singer-songwriter whose music technology presents a fusion of local,popular,and traditional forms.This paper will take Alicia Keys’ album Songs In A Minor as the main object of study,and through the analysis of the singing and composing techniques in the album works,exploring the possibilities and ideas of the technical diversity development of pop musicians,and further promote the diversified development of popular music.This paper is divided into four chapters: Chapter 1 is an analysis of the integrated singing techniques in the album,with different characteristics of singing techniques as the object of analysis;Chapter 2 is an analysis of the compositional elements and themes in the album,exploring the creative elements and lyrics from the perspective of music shaping;Chapter 3 is focused on analyzing the compositional techniques in the album,analyzing the individual melodies and harmonies as well as the drum set;Chapter 4 is an analysis of musical culture and connotative characteristics of the album and Alicia Keys’ music,reflecting on what connotations the development of music technologies has on popular music itself.
