A Study Of Hand-centred Craft Practices And Values

Handicraft is characterized by using the hand as a carrier to combine the perceptual systems of the brain,vision,touch,and smell to make comprehensive coordination and judgments,and finally complete the whole process of object creation together.The purpose of this project is to take the hand as the entry point and take the sea craft as the research object,firstly,to clarify the definition of hand craft and show its unique characteristics and connotation;secondly,to present the overall process of dynamic practice of hand craft with the hand as the core,which can only reveal itself in the longterm experience practice of individuals;thirdly,to deeply understand hand craft as a kind of living cultural heritage,preserving and passing on the social change through the medium of hand Fourth,it presents the overall planning of the craftsmanship knowledge held by craftspeople,and the hands become an effective expression of individual values and creativity;fifth,it analyzes and summarizes the new places of hands-on practice and the new appearance of crafts development in the context of the era of rapid technological development.It explores useful paths for the new needs of Shanghai handicrafts in the new era and for the "re-prosperity" of Shanghai culture.
