Non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI),defined as an individual’s intentional injury to one’s body without suicidal intention, which seriously affects people’s physical and mental health.Bullying victimization is one of the important risk factors leading to NSSI among adolescents, but the psychological mechanism of NSSI affected by bullying victimization remains to be explored. The theme of this study is NSSI.Therefore, according to the integrated model of NSSI,we started from the perspectives of adolescents’ internal cognition(anger rumination)and emotion(depression)respectively, and explored the relationship between bullying victimization and NSSI and its mechanism through a variable-oriented analysis analyses. At the same time, the person-oriented analyses is used to conduct an exploratory research on the heterogeneity of adolescents’ NSSI behaviors, and verify whether there are differences in NSSI among different classification groups. In this study,711 rural junior school students aged 12-17 years old were investigated using Olweus bullying questionnaire,self-harming Behavior Scale(DSHI),Anger Ruminative Scale(ASA),and simple Liutiao Central Depression Scale(CES-D10).SPSS 26.0 was used to test the influence mechanism of school bullying on NSSI,and Mplus 8.3 was used to explore the potential categories of anger rumination and depression. The main research results are as follows:(1)The variable-centered method found that anger rumination played a mediating role in the relationship between bullying victimization and self-injurious behavior of junior middle school students;Depression plays a mediating role in the relationship between bullying victimization and self-injurious behavior.Anger rumination and depression have chain mediating effects between them.(2)The person-oriented study found that there were three subgroups of low anger rumination-low depression type, medium anger rumination-moderate depression type, and high anger rumination-high depression type through potential profile analysis, and there were differences in NSSI behaviors among junior high school students in different subgroups.Among them, people with low anger rumination and low depression accounted for the majority, and the probability of NSSI was the lowest. It is confirmed that there is heterogeneity in adolescents’ NSSI behavior, and demographic characteristics such as gender, grade and single and double parent family have an impact on the potential classification of NSSI risk factors(namely, anger rumination-depression)of junior middle school students.Whether they are the only child or left-behind family does not affect the potential classification of anger rumination-depression.This study integrated contextual, cognitive and emotional factors to explore and explain the mediating mechanism of bullying victimization affecting NSSI among junior high school students. The results of the variable-centered study show that bullying can not only trigger adolescents’ NSSI through anger rumination and depression respectively, but also catalyze depression through anger rumination, thus influencing adolescents to make more NSSI behaviors. The person-oriented studies have confirmed that adolescents with different levels of risk factors for NSSI constitute different subgroups, and the behavioral risk of NSSI varies among different groups. It is of certain theoretical value and practical significance to provide a new direction for the intervention of adolescent NSSI. |
