| In this paper,Hong Kong Shaw Brothers’ musical film is a representative of major studios,which reached its peak in the late 1960 s,selected from 1943 to 1972 musical film as research samples,this paper as the main research method of qualitative research.Based on the theory of "Attractive film" theory and reception aesthetics,taking visual modernity as the research point of view,this paper selects the samples of Shaw Brothers Studio’s musical films from 1943 to19872,combining with the popular Hong Kong musical film samples at that time.A comparative study was carried out,and a systematic study was carried out to fill the gaps in Shaw Brothers Studio’s visual studies of musical films,it also analyzes the results and shortcomings of the current Shaw’s musical and puts forward the current optimization scheme.Finally,the author explores the creative production mode from the different angles of the creator and the acceptor,from the perspectives of the singing and dancing landscape,the singing and dancing characters and the singing and dancing audience."Visual modernity" has become one of the hot topics in recent years,with the academic circles attaching importance to the study of film media and the study of "Film archaeology".Visual modernity focuses on the film as a visual technology,which brings the audience visual experience and sensory shock.The development of visual art is accompanied by the process of modernity.From the perspective of visual modernity,this paper unfolds the archaeology of the prehistory of film,takes the vision as the sensory media,and analyzes the visual image media,the forms and methods of viewing and its cultural phenomena.At the First stage,author traces back to the three major types of influence of Shaw Brothers Studio’s musical films,and divides the three stages of the development of Shaw’s musical films from the early Shanghai style musical films,Hollywood musical films and Huang Mai Opera Films,and systematically comb the different stages of song and dance artistic characteristics.Secondly,with the "Attraction" and the shock brought by the visual modernity,this paper analyzes the modernity of the studio space,the outdoor space and the transnational scene in Shaw’s musical films,and explores the complex background of the Cold War,de-politicized,chinese-western,and urban-oriented,Shaw Brothers Studio’s musicals present wonders and wonders.Thirdly,this paper studies the modernity of Song and dance style in Shaw Brothers Studio’s musical films,and proposes that on the basis of the integration of star system,studio system and genre.They use elements of traditional Chinese culture,continue to film types and music types of convergence,the ultimate box office and the benefits of word-of-mouth.Fourthly,an important part of "Cinema of Attractions" is the study of audience acceptance aesthetics.Based on Jauss’ s theory of acceptance aesthetics,then it analyzes the audience preference,middle-class character identity and overseas expansion strategy of Shaw’s musical.At the end of this paper,I analyze Shaw Brothers Studio’s musical films with high reputation after the millennium,based on their serious homogeneity and decline after the development of new media,it also puts forward the Enlightenment brought by Shaw’s musical films and the current type optimization scheme.The author believes that the combination of theme innovation,narration and localization elements will achieve a breakthrough in the genre.As the product of the image media in the industrialized society,film is one of the important art media in the discussion of modernity.Modernity is a kind of self-reflection and a symbol of civilization and enlightenment. |
