With the continuous progress of science and technology and the continuous innovation of the Internet,we are in the ‘VUCA era’.Especially under the influence of the COVID-19,the global economy has been affected,which has also brought many uncertainties and instability to the development of society and various industries.In the face of various sudden changes and uncertainties,it is necessary to have proactive and forward-looking thinking,predict and prepare for what may happen in the future,,take proactive actions,and lead the development of the situation.If you blindly and passively respond,many unexpected things may occur.Therefore,in the context of organizational selection and various selection contexts,the measurement and selection of proactive personality has become a possibility and trend.However,the measurement of proactive personality is mostly based on the proactive personality scale developed by foreign researchers,but it is not suitable for domestic local culture,and the dimensional structure of the domestically developed proactive personality scale has not yet been agreed upon.Therefore,this study attempts to develop a proactive personality scale and determine the dimensional structure of proactive personality.Personality test plays a very important role in talent selection and recruitment,such as enterprise recruitment of new employees,internal promotion of employees,postgraduate selection and various interviews.Most of the traditional personality tests use Likert’s scale,and self-assessment may inevitably lead to the tendency of the subjects to disguise themselves in order to obtain a desired position or to achieve a certain purpose,thus affecting the effectiveness of the test.However,due to its unique test form,the forced-choice scale has the function of avoiding faking,which can prevent the subjects from faking and other reaction bias,and is suitable for use in high-stakes situations.Therefore,the purpose of this study is to develop a proactive personality forced-choice scale,preliminarily analyze the quality of the forced-choice scale,and explore the relationship between proactive personality and creativity,as well as the chain mediating role of intrinsic motivation and knowledge exploration.The first study is about the structure of the proactive personality scale.Because there is no unified conclusion on the dimensional structure of the proactive personality at present,this study aims to determine the dimensional structure of the proactive personality and the specific questionnaire through interviews,pre-tests and formal tests.Through the interview,5 graduate students majoring in applied psychology and 5 staff on active duty were asked to obtain their understanding of proactive personality.A total of 53 statements were obtained.Combined with the existing proactive personality scale,a total of 70 statements were obtained.After discussion,6 inconsistent statements were deleted,and the remaining 64 statements were used in the initial proactive personality questionnaire.179 valid data were collected in the pre-test.Through exploratory factor analysis,the cumulative variance contribution rate after deleting 16 items was 51.41%,and the proactive personality was determined to be composed of initiative and revolutionary.In order to test the quality of the remaining 48 questions in the formal test,260 valid questionnaires were collected,and SPSS was used for item analysis and Mplus was used for confirmatory factor analysis.A total of 24 questions with poor quality were deleted.Finally,24 questions were remained,and all indicators fitted well.In study 2,the development and quality analysis of a proactive personality forced-choice scale was conducted,and the 24 statements obtained in study 1 were paired into a forced-choice group according to the principle of the same or similar social desirability by means of social desirability evaluation.A questionnaire was distributed to 30 psychology graduate students.Finally,16 statements were matched in pairs according to the principle of similar mean and standard deviation,and the remaining 8 statements that could not be matched were deleted.Therefore,the proactive personality forced-choice scale is composed of 8 groups of questions,each of which contains two dimensions,namely initiative and revolutionary.186 valid questionnaires were obtained after the distribution of the proactive personality forced-choice scale.The scale data were converted into binary variables.Thurstonian IRT model was used for data analysis of the forced-choice scale using Mplus.The results showed that the overall fitting index of the model was acceptable.Two weeks later,30 of 186 subjects were retested with the forced-choice scale,and the correlation coefficient of the scores of the two test was 0.750(p<0.01),indicating that the retest reliability was good.At present,the academic community is still exploring the quality analysis of the forced-choice scale.This study has carried out a preliminary exploration of the quality analysis of the forced-choice scale,and proposed a new idea of the quality analysis of the forced-choice scale.In study 3,an applied study of the proactive personality forced-choice scale was conducted,exploring the relationship between proactive personality and creativity,as well as the chain mediating role of intrinsic motivation and knowledge exploration.The data were tested for common method bias,difference analysis,and correlation analysis using SPSS 23.0.The PROCESS 3.4 was used to test the chain mediated model.The results of the study found that proactive personality has a significant effect on creativity,while intrinsic motivation has a significant mediating effect on the relationship between proactive personality and creativity,while knowledge exploration has an insignificant mediating effect on the relationship between proactive personality and creativity,while intrinsic motivation and knowledge exploration have a significant chain mediating effect on the relationship between proactive personality and creativity.In summary,the proactive personality forced-choice scale developed in this study has good reliability and validity,and can be used as a measure of proactive personality in organizations or various scenarios.It can prevent people from faking.Through applied research,it has been proved that the proactive personality forced-choice scale is practical,and that proactive personality can predict creativity,and proactive personality can also predict individual creativity through intrinsic motivation.It can predict individual creativity through the chain mediation between intrinsic motivation and knowledge exploration,but it cannot predict individual creativity through knowledge exploration.
