Nowadays,with the development of media technology,videos continue to extend on social network platforms.Self-Documentary use video as a medium to express or reflect on themselves and share their private life.Especially since the 21 st century,the popularity of DV technology,the threshold of technology is gradually lowered,Self-Documentaries began to emerge in large numbers.The definition of Self-Documentary has gone through a long process.It was first put forward by Japanese scholars for reference to the definition of "private novel".Compared with other types of documentary,the academic research on Self-Documentary started late,and the theory has not formed a systematic.In addition,it mainly focuses on the narrative mechanism,value presentation,ethical expression and healing function of Self-Documentary based on existing Self-Documentary cases.This paper focuses on the creation characteristics of Self-Documentary,using text analysis method and case analysis method,starting from what is Self-Documentary,and combing out the concept definition,the rise background,and the creation and evolution of Self-Documentary in our country.At the same time,it focuses on the personal work "New Life" as the case and research object,supplemented by excellent Self-Documentary works at home and abroad as examples,and summarizes the characteristics of Self-Documentary creation from the source of topic selection,creation subject,narrative expression,image presentation and ethical situation of Self-Documentary.It broadens the existing research horizon in the field of Self-Documentary,and hopes to provide some reflection and reference for promoting the creation of Self-Documentary.
