A Quantitative Study Of Cranial Morphological Types In A Pre-Qin Chinese Population | Posted on:2024-07-12 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:Y Chao | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2555307064492274 | Subject:Arts and Crafts | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | Taking the group difference degree of skull morphological characteristics as the standard is the core content of the classification system of skull morphological types in pre-Qin Chinese population.Through the efforts of several generations of scholars,a large amount of cranial morphological data of ancient Chinese populations has been accumulated.Scholars such as Pan Qifeng and Zhu Hong have successively distinguished the racial types of ancient populations in the pre-Qin period in detail,and conducted qualitative studies on the germline characteristics of ancient populations with several basic ancient racial types.As a landmark achievement in the field of Chinese ancient ethnographic research,the system of cranial morphological types of Chinese pre-Qin populations has been refined and elaborated by several scholars from different disciplinary perspectives over the years,and has developed into an important part of the theoretical system of Chinese ethnography,and established a theoretical foundation and research paradigm for subsequent similar and related studies.The scientific nature of this system is self-evident,but influenced by the development stage of the discipline,the application of statistical methods and the accumulation of materials,the current classification criteria of each type are mainly defined based on the results of qualitative studies,which only summarize the common characteristics presented by the data of each type,but do not clearly define the data interval of each type and carry out the cranial measurement data of each type of representative population.This makes different researchers understand and study the system from a subjective perspective in the process of practical application,and there are problems such as different categorization of ancient populations and unclear and differentiated conclusions.This study adopts a quantitative research method based on cranial measurement data,and initially establishes quantitative data intervals of cranial measurement items for different types of people in this system,which can enable researchers to use the system in a more scientific and standardized way in the process of applying and learning from the system,and give greater play to the guiding role of the system.This study is divided into three parts.The first part is from the three aspects of the academic foundation,the foundation of the times and the process of est ablishment and improvement of the skull morphological type system of the pre-Qin population in China,and summarizes the process of establishing the syste m.The second part analyzes the scientific nature of the establishment of the sy stem from the perspective of subject research methods;the third part is a qua ntitative study of the system by statistical analysis.This article is divided into four chapters :The first chapter is the introduction,which expounds the purpose and significance of this study.The second chapter describes the process of establishing the cranial morphological type system of the pre-Qin population from three aspects,including the academic foundation of the system,the foundation of the era in which it was established and the process of its establishment and improvement.The third chapter is the quantitative analysis of the representative population of cranial morphological types of the pre-Qin population,including the selection of the research method,the selection of the sample population and the overview of its craniofacial characteristics,and the clustering analysis of the variation interval and cranial morphological characteristics of the system through quantitative analysis and multivariate statistical analysis.The results show that the cranial morphological data of the pre-Qin Chinese population have obvious regional characteristics,and there are differences in cranial morphological characteristics among populations in different regions and commonalities among populations in the same region.The scientific validity of the system is proved from the quantitative perspective.The fourth chapter summarizes and summarizes the contents of the previous chapters,puts forward the application strategies and suggestions for the system,and summarizes the shortcomings of this study. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Physical anthropology, pre-Qin period, cranial morphological characteristics, cluster analysis, craniometry | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
