A Personal Exploration Of The Creation Of Watercolors On The Theme Of Old Agricultural Machinery

The theme of old agricultural machinery mainly depicts old farming tools such as cultivators,harvesters,and threshers,which belongs to nostalgic painting themes.In the development of China’s modern economic construction,agriculture plays an irreplaceable role,meeting people’s most basic needs for food and clothing and economic demands,and agricultural machinery also plays a vital role.As time goes by,those fighters who once galloped in the countryside are now in their twilight years,abandoned in some corner,leaving behind damaged and broken parts,engraved with memories.The author chose the theme of old agricultural machinery in this creation because the mottled scenes of old agricultural machinery can be seen everywhere in his/her childhood life,and he/she has unique feelings and reminiscence of old machinery.Since watercolor painting was introduced to China,it has already formed a unique Chinese painting style.Art has always reflected the authenticity of the world.The research on the theme creation of old agricultural machinery in watercolor painting can better demonstrate a realistic,Chinese unique local atmosphere,and national sentiment.There are many excellent works of this subject in many art exhibitions,but there is relatively little research on this subject in theory,so this paper makes theoretical research on this subject and carries out practical creative research on old agricultural machinery that is consistent with this subject.The paper begins with an introduction,which includes the research background and current situation,the purpose and significance of the topic,and the research content and methods.The research methods employed include the induction method,comparative analysis method,and experimental method,using relevant journals,papers,and works on the theme of old agricultural machinery as research materials.Following the introduction,the paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter discusses the artistic characteristics that watercolor works of old agricultural machinery need to grasp,detailing the rural atmosphere embodied in them and explaining the timeliness of the theme.Analysis is conducted through the appreciation of related excellent works to absorb their artistic emotions.The second chapter focuses on the collective study of watercolor artists who specialize in the theme of old agricultural machinery,exploring traditional realistic techniques and watercolor techniques that can be employed in the artworks,and analyzing and drawing inspiration from relevant classic watercolor works.The third chapter systematically describes the practical creative process of this theme,including material selection,finalization,preliminary drafts,coloring,and completion of the artwork.Overall,this paper provides a comprehensive exploration of the old agricultural machinery theme in watercolor painting,offering insight into its artistic features,creative techniques,and practical applications.Through this research,artists can gain a deeper understanding of this nostalgic and evocative theme and create works that reflect the true picture feeling and national emotion of China.
