Contemporary capitalist culture, aided by global transnational corporations, has broken down the barriers of world geopolitics and quietly formed a trend of spiritual infiltration into other countries and ethnic groups."The End of History" is one typical argument and has led to questioning the continued validity of Marxist thought. In this trend, the famous American thinker Jameson staunchly supports Marxism and uses the method of historical materialism to expose the cultural symptoms of capitalist postmodernism and conduct cultural text analysis in a holistic manner. This article intends to use the perspective of allegory theory to expound Jameson’s inheritance and improvement of Marxist ideological thought, and provide some references for current ideological theory research. The article provides explanations of Jameson’s allegory theory in five parts. The first part is the introduction, which outlines the current research status of Jameson’s allegory theory at home and abroad, and explains the research ideas and methods of this article,as well as its research value and significance. The second part clarifies the background and connotation of Jameson’s allegory theory. This chapter explains the necessity of allegory theory for historical and postmodernism studies by elucidating the political unconsciousness in allegorical texts and the composition method and analysis perspective of allegorical systems. The third part mainly explains the establishment of the allegorical system and text analysis method through four aspects: the analysis of narrative and subjectivity within the family, the application of symbol matrix in allegorical texts, the establishment of national communication systems, and the analysis of third world national allegory. The fourth part attempts to criticize the bias of allegory theory. This chapter questions Jameson’s theory from three aspects: the neglect of aesthetic diversity in allegory theory, the boundarylessness of national allegory analysis, the weakening of character analysis in text, and the paradox and utopian tendency in third world national allegory,in an attempt to improve Jameson’s allegory theory. The fifth part highlights the significance and inspiration of allegory theory, especially its a pplication in contemporary society. In summary,Jameson is committed to contemporary interpr etation of the validity of Marxism, and his allegory theory has enriched and developed Marxist i deological thought to a certain extent, providing conceptual and methodological references for e xplaining third world national literary texts. |
