Oxygen XML Author User Guide 23.1 is a manual to direct users how to use the software.The translation has been conducted via Yi CAT Online Translation Management Platform in the “Machine Translation(MT)+ Post-editing(PE)mode.” It is recognized that Yi CAT and MTPE have improved the translation efficiency.However,machine translation is still dwarfed by some limitations,requiring post-editing by professional translators.The user guide is a typical text type in the translation of technical documents.The translation of technical documents is difficult because it requires specialized knowledge in professional fields,which has challenged translators in terms of their knowledge base.The author proposed a translation strategy of referring to parallel texts and a technical writing style guide.It is proven that parallel texts can prepare translators with specific industry knowledge and textual characteristics.At the same time,a technical writing style guide can help improve the quality of the translated document to support users in accomplishing tasks.
