The opera ‘The Long March’ is a large-scale national opera created by the NCPA to celebrate the 80 th anniversary of the victory of the Long March of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army.With more than 100 participants,the opera is the largest original opera performed by the National Grand Theater so far.The opera excerpt ‘Can You Hear My Love’is one of the classical songs sung by ‘Political Commissar Peng’ in the opera ‘The Long March’.This piece embodies the strong character and firm ideal belief of ‘Political Commissar Peng’.This article takes the historical background of "The Long March" as an entry point,and focuses on the analysis musical characteristics,character characteristics and singing skills of the opera excerpt "Can You Hear,My Love".Through the writing of this thesis,we can have a deeper understanding and grasp of the vivid image of "Political Commissar Peng",and provide theoretical reference for better stage practice in the future so as to further improve and perfect the level of personal singing and performance.
