Image Research In Digital Protection Of Intangible Cultural Heritage

China has extremely rich intangible cultural heritage,which integrates concepts,knowledge,skills,and other aspects of people’s production and life practices,witnessing the inheritance and development of excellent traditional Chinese culture.In recent years,China has comprehensively promoted the protection of intangible cultural heritage and carried out various practical actions with significant results.With the advent of the information age,the widespread and necessary application of digital technology is becoming increasingly prominent,which also puts forward requirements for the protection of intangible cultural heritage.Since China’s accession to the UNESCO for 《Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage》,it has played a positive role in the construction of the system of intangible cultural heritage protection with Chinese characteristics,including comprehensive exploration and practice of salvage protection,productive protection,holistic protection,legislative protection,and digital protection.Intangible cultural heritage based on human practical activities has a living and rheology nature,hence it is also known as a "living heritage".Dynamic imaging is a type of digital protection that has various characteristics such as authenticity,objectivity,intuitiveness,practicality,timeliness,multi-dimensionality,and dissemination in recording the practical activities and related information of intangible cultural heritage.Therefore,it has a unique advantage in the digital protection of intangible cultural heritage.Documentaries,as an important branch of dynamic imaging,have a long history of assisting in the protection and inheritance of traditional culture through their artistic expressions that combine authenticity and narrative,as well as diverse media.With the deepening of practice in the protection of intangible cultural heritage,documentaries continue to play a role in the protection of intangible cultural heritage.In the digital protection of intangible cultural heritage,if the advantages of documentaries can be reasonably utilized,it will significantly enhance the dissemination and social influence of intangible cultural heritage in contemporary times,promote public awareness of intangible cultural heritage protection,and strengthen cultural confidence.There are various types of intangible cultural heritage and their existence is complex.Documentaries have excellent examples in presenting various types of intangible cultural heritage.Among them,traditional handicraft intangible cultural heritage has characteristics such as tradition,humanism,aesthetics,and artistry.Promoting its inheritance and dissemination through documentary films has a relatively broad audience base.In this article,the author combines literature research,case analysis,and field research methods to study the digital protection of intangible cultural heritage.Based on representative living image works in China’s digital protection methods,traditional handicraft intangible cultural heritage documentaries are selected as examples to define the connotation and extension of digital protection of intangible cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage documentaries,taking the production techniques of cloisonne as a case study,this study analyzes the characteristics and advantages of documentaries in protecting and disseminating related intangible cultural heritage,and proposes optimization strategies and directions for reference.
