Achieving the harmonious coexistence of man and nature is the essential requirement of Chinese-style modernization. The report of the 20 th Party Congress states,"We must adhere to the concept of green water and green mountains is the silver mountain, adhere to the integrated protection and systematic management of mountains, water, forests, fields, lakes, grasses and sands, make the system of ecological civilization more sound, make historical, transitional and global changes in ecological environmental protection, and make our motherland’s sky more blue, mountains more green and water more clear." The Chinese civilization, which has lasted for more than 5,000 years, has developed a rich ecological culture, with the ecological philosophies of "the Way of Nature" and "the Oneness of All Things","Knowing Enough and Knowing Stop" and the ecological code of "cherishing things and nurturing virtue".The excavation and study of the excellent traditional ecological culture of the Chinese people is an important contribution to ecological environmental protection and governance, biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk management. This paper focuses on the natural ecological literature of the famous Tibetan scholar Gungthang Tenpa’i Dron me(1762-1823),and examines the ecological ethics and codes of conduct of the traditional Tibetan ecological culture of "all things are one" and "cherishing things and nurturing virtue".Gungthang Tenpa’i Dronme is one of the traditional Tibetan writers who pay the most attention to the harmonious relationship between man and nature. Most of his works depict natural creatures and explore the wonders of the landscape. His works not only have the naturalist’s love for nature, but also the idea of ecological holistic view of revering nature and following it.For example,"Aphorisms on Water and Trees" is a metaphor for natural water and trees, with important admonitions on character and morality, while at the same time infiltrating the beauty and laws of nature into human nature, revealing the ecological idea that man and nature share the same fate. Then again, the "Teachings of the Elders" is of great practical significance as it uses the natural laws of human birth, old age, sickness and death and the truth of life to give rise to a harmonious social ecology of respect for the old and love for the young, and of thinking differently.Other works of nature literature about simmering chanting and praying for rain still use anthropomorphism and other techniques to depict the gems and peculiarities of natural landscapes, creating a strong sense of reverence for nature and helping people to establish a conscious awareness of the protection of natural landscapes and creatures. Therefore, the study of the natural ecological literature of Gungthang Tenpa’i Dronme is of great significance to the construction and sustainable development of ecological civilization on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau nowadays. This dissertation is divided into six chapters. The first chapter provides an overview of the unique geographical features of the Tibetan Plateau and its associated ecological culture.Chapters 2 and 3,based on the Aphorisms of Trees and Aphorisms of Water, respectively, discuss the ecological thought and artistic attainment of Gungthang Tenpa’i Dronme, who portrayed the compatibility of humanity and nature by summarizing the natural attributes of trees and rivers.Chapter 4 discusses the ecological philosophy of the impermanence of life and the equality of all beings, taking as examples such works as "Mani Dawngo," "Dawngo of the Wild Deer,Hounds and Hunters," and "Teachings of the Elders.Chapter 5 summarizes the ecological conservation rituals and ecological folklore texts such as the "Praying for Rain" and "Simmering Chanting" of Gung thang Ten pa’i Dron me.and their main contents.Chapter 6 evaluates and reflects on the ecological ideology of Gungthang Tenpa’i Dronme...
