Research On The Artistic Language Of Quilt Picture Books

Compared with text reading,picture books are more capable of rendering emotional atmosphere,which transforms abstract text into an easy-to-understand image language,with powerful narrative ability and thematic publicity and expression ability.As technology develops,artificial intelligence and interaction design have greatly enriched the way of reading.On the other hand,people are beginning to realize the role of physical books,the expression language of traditional picture books can no longer meet the needs of readers in a multicultural environment.Therefore,creators began to seek breakthroughs and innovations in materials and expressions.At present,the revival of traditional culture is vigorously advocated,combining patchwork art and picture book illustration creation can make traditional patchwork art develop more styles,patchwork art is no longer a simple handicraft,patchwork has been expanded and improved in subject matter to inherit and innovate traditional patchwork art.Picture books can have more creative ways and thinking space.The patchwork picture book brings new materials and creative inspiration to the creation of picture books.It explores the new visual,tactile and thought generated by the patchwork material in the application of picture books.This paper studies the artistic value brought by patchwork picture books,combined with the binding form of the artist’s hand-made books in the picture book binding,and further explores the materiality,structure and space of picture books,expands the expression form of picture books,moving from plane to space.First of all,starting from the two basic elements of the visual language and the binding form that constitute the patchwork picture book,this paper sorts out the image,text,layout and the binding form of the picture book,and clarifies the basic composition of the patchwork picture book to provide a theoretical basis for the patchwork picture book creation.Secondly,by analyzing the application examples of patchwork picture books,this paper takes the application of patchwork technology in patchwork picture books as the starting point,analyzes the different visual effects produced by various techniques and materials in the pictures of patchwork picture books to summarizes the creation methods and provide methods and experiences for personal creation.Then,by studying the quilting craftsmanship and materials,combined with the various expressions of quilting art,this paper explores its unique artistic language and the different sense of experience it brings to the readers.It is concluded that the patchwork picture book has artistic characteristics such as decoration,interest,narrative and reading,and experimentation.Finally,starting from the personal practice of quilting picture book creation,through the creative ideas,creative medium and picture book audience of the work "Her World",the interactive and non-paper picture book unique experience of quilting picture books is explored.This paper considers the advantages and disadvantages of practical exploration,and concludes that the innovation of the structure and materials of traditional picture books will continue to play a unique role in patchwork picture books.Patchwork picture books are unknown and experimental,which can bring a steady stream of vitality and exploration space to the picture book world.
