The practice report is based on an interview On the road: the exclusive interview with Xu Xiaonian for mock English-Chinese interpreting. This mock interpreting practice is carried out in the form of consecutive interpreting, lasting for142 minutes. The interview is a famous humanities interview program founded by Beijing Youshimi Network Technology Co.,LTD.,the interviewee is a famous economics professor in China,Professor Xu Xiaonian. The interview mainly tells us about Professor Xu Xiaonian’s view of the world, society, and young people and gives his advice for the hot topic to help the confused young people. In this interpreting practice, the interpreter finds that there are many Chinese paratactic sentences(abbreviated for C.P.S.)in this material, which increases the difficulties of interpreting. Therefore, according to the classification of Chinese paratactic sentences, the interpreter summarizes three main difficulties in interpreting Chinese paratactic sentences, they are redundant information in single-subject Chinese paratactic sentences, implicit information in multi-subject Chinese paratactic sentences and loose structure in complex-subject Chinese paratactic sentences. Then, under the guidance of the Interpretative Theory, the interpreter concludes three interpreting strategies to solve them respectively. They are simplification, explication, and restructuring. These strategies can help the interpreter get rid of the form of the source language and achieve the equivalent of the meaning. In conclusion, these three strategies can effectively solve the difficulties of Chinese paratactic sentences interpreting. The interpreter hopes the report can provide some references and thoughts for other related studies in the future.
