In the 1980 s and 1990 s,Car Boot sales emerged in Britain and gradually became part of British folk life.Usually as a weekend event around the country,most people saw it as a great opportunity to sell their used items(no longer use),and to some extent they formed their own community and rules,the so-called Car boot sale culture.As an informal place for buying and selling activities,the trunk bazaar challenges the traditional mass retail industry with its simple,convenient and flexible trading methods,breaking the inherent trading circle.As a symbol of competitive individualism and free market,but also because of its “marginality”,both buyers and sellers can be “speculators”,and there is no shortage of merchants who seek illegal benefits from it.Therefore,in order to facilitate market management,the authorities have enacted corresponding laws and regulations to regulate it.As a kind of consumer culture,it has gradually become formalized in the process of organizing activities,which has contributed to the development of social and cultural diversity.The "car boot sale culture" formed in the development of the British car boot sale is different from the traditional market trading culture.On the surface,it is just a simple second-hand market culture,but in a sense,it belongs to the post subculture category.Therefore,this paper selects the post subculture theoretical paradigm from the perspective of the analysis of boot sale culture,respectively from the "new tribe","lifestyle" and "Scene" studied the class,identity and other issues in the boot sale,found that the class distribution in car boot sale is extensive,and participants have high degree of cultural identity of the car boot sale,and analyzed the reasons in detail.Economic factors dominate the motivation for participating in car boot sale,and hedonism,frugality culture,and charity culture are also important driving factors.Therefore,the development of car boot sale in the UK has been significant.The study of British Car Boot Sales at the cultural level is different from the traditional economic geography and is important for analyzing the social and cultural development of Britain.With the continuous expansion of the influence of car boot sale,China has also experienced the phenomenon of boot sales.Studying the development of boot sales in the UK also has certain guiding significance for the development of markets with Chinese characteristics.
