Research On The Arrangement Techniques Of Jazz Standard In Solo Piano Works

Standard is the most important content and source of Jazz music.The presentation of standard in piano solo works,arrangement is its attribute and characteristic.After arrangement,outstanding and different arrangements are formed,which is the main component of jazz piano works.It is used for playing and learning in practice,and for analysis and research in theory.This thesis takes the arrangement techniques as the research object,and takes Keith Jarrett’s highly popular work Over The Rainbow as the case.The main body of this article is divided into three parts:the first chapter is the piano solo overview of jazz standard music;the second chapter is the arrangement techniques of Keith Jarrett;and the third chapter is derived from the personal practice of Keith Jarrett’s arrangement techniques.Through the analysis of the relevant arrangement techniques of the four major musical elements of the case works,such as form,rhythm,harmony and melody,this thesis explores the originality,influence and inspiration of the famous arrangement techniques,and summarizes the arrangement techniques and theories of standard in piano solo in combination with the practice of individual arrangement works.At the end of the thesis,the research of jazz piano works is extended and prospected.
