‘Needle Threading’ Film Music:An Analysis Of The Relevance Between The Songs And The Scores Of The Film La La Land

This thesis focuses on the songs and scores in movies and explores the role and function of the correlation between them.The paper analyzes the ways in which songs and scores are correlated in the movie La La Land,proposes three approaches: ‘variation without music theme’,‘single music theme variation’ and ‘multiple music themes reproduction’.By sorting out the musical images of the correlated music at different parts of the movie and the corresponding plots,the paper analyzes their audiovisual functions.Finally,the paper discusses the inspiration of “the correlation between songs and scores” on the creation of film music,and obtains targeted film music creation methodology from a practical perspective.
